Small rant for the folks out there buying HP printers/products. Nothing against the actual product and the performance, but a major disappointment in how some companies Hewitt Packard will go to collect/steal money from their consumers.
1) Setup guide directions: remove tape, packing, blah blah, plug in.
2) Go to 123.hp.com and install the HP smart software on app stoe, computer, or mobile device
3) Follow instructions...... (things are good for about 60 seconds....downloading...all looking good, then ERROR message pops up!
DO NOT try this again it could damage the drivers..blah blah call the 800 #
So Bob calls the 800 #
Ibab answers (speaks pretty clear English....Bob is impressed so far)
Ibab (not real name) tells me he has to remote in....take the reigns Kemosabee! I'm already done with this BS
Ibab does some computer stuff and pulls up some error messages.....this is a problem........seee how many errors there are, this is what is causing your issues! Bob....ok, cool, what do we do?
Ibab pulls up the Notes app (so I can read it and proof he showed me I am guessing) and starts typing out the issues.
1) blah blah .....
2) blah blah ....
3) blah blah...
then continues to describe the fix to the issues that are preventing me from getting this 100$ printer from connecting to my laptop in the shop so I can print our black and white quotes for folks if needed.
Starts with #3) its free :) #2) 29.99$, #1) that 50$
That's about the time I stated F #$% HP and the piece of S$% I purchased, I will just send it back and Abib hangs up on me (dick)
Bob reads the Reference Guide sent with the printer a little more closely as my blood pressure is rising like gas prices under Biden.
It says mobile device recommended for activation...?
I follow the Reference guide instructions and download the app on my phone. Printer is setup in less than 5 minutes to my laptop, and I'm printing docs similar to the classified ones found by Biden's Corvette off with ease!
Moral of this rant:
Shame on you HP for your BS tactics to double your money on a "problem" that DOES not affect the printers' abilities/function.
Doing your own research/verification often times reveals the real problem/root cause...
I was more upset knowing people like my mom (sorry Carol) would have more than likely paid the money for the HP assistant to resolve a Non-issue due to trusting HP (any major brand name.)
Have a good night y'all....
