Access & Permits:

You will need to enter via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority.
Permits are strictly regulated, and specific time limits or designated routes apply to vehicles to preserve the ecosystem.
It is highly recommended to arrive at the gates early.

What to Pack:

The crater rim sits at a high elevation (roughly 2,300 meters above sea level) and can get very chilly in the early mornings, so bring warm layers in addition to standard safari gear.
