Good day all. It has been brought to our attention that a social media page Alert T&T The Backup Page made a post on Wednesday 13th September, 2023 about stolen parts being found on the premises of ‘cooksies in cunupia’.
In this type of industry we operate, it is quite common for police to do inquiries at businesses in the industry. On the 8th September 2023, a thorough routine search was conducted by the stolen vehicles at Coksie’s Auto at Warrenville main road, Cunupia on Friday evening by the stolen vehicle section of the TTPS where nothing stolen or illegal was found on the compound and neither was anyone arrested.
This page was contacted to remove and/or clarify the post as it was perceived by many to be our business place as the spelling of the respective names are nearly the same. This has affected our business negatively as our name is being tarnished and we have been receiving many calls of concern from our stakeholders.
It is unfortunate, that these unofficial ‘news pages’ with no identifiable owner, can hide behind their page whilst tarnishing people’s businesses/ names without consequence or recourse to them with the stroke of a key. We urge such pages to be responsible and post accurate information
We hope that in an effort to provide the public with correct information/news, ‘Alert T&T’ can remove and/or clarify its post to state the FACTS at the very least.
Should the post remain and continue to bring disrepute to Coksie’s Auto, the necessary legal action would be taken in the circumstances.
