After the release of the next quarter's COE quota by LTA, we expected this onslaught, to a certain extent...

But definitely not a 5 figure increase!!

Cat A rose by $5,700!
Cat B rose by $10,000!!
Cat E rose by $12,200!!!

The last time Cat A was over $50,000 was back in 2017, and the last time that Cat B was at $80,000 was.... we don't even remember when!

Sometimes we wonder at the timing of the release of the news. If only LTA had waited until after the bidding to release the news....

Cat A saw a rise of $1,000, while Cat B and E saw a rise of more than $5,000!

Also, we have just broken the $70,000 barrier, when we only just gotten over the $60,000 mark a few months ago. This does not bode well for new car buyers!

Barring any policy changes, the long term trend is that COE WILL continue to rise, and we most definitely will see a repeat of the 2012-2013 highs, or worst still, might even break those highs.

What is your strategy moving forward?

No matter what it is, it seems like "Winter is here", and we have to brace for a long and hard ride.

Sea of red again!

Cat A rose by about $2,000 😕
Cat B rose by about $3,400 🙁
Cat C rose by about $600 😑
Cat E rose by about $2,300 😕

Despite the rise, we want to thank those clients who believed in our predictions, and purchased their cars with guaranteed COE packages from us.

Congratulations! No matter how much COE rose by, we will always stick by our promise and bid the COE for you 🙂

Take note that the COE quota for the next quarter has been released, and as you guessed it, the quota has dropped again (we have been saying this for months~).

And yes, you know what we will say next! There is very high chance that the COE will continue to rise!

Even though there is the fallback to Phase 2, the bad news regarding the economy due to the pandemic etc etc, the COE does not seem to be affected!

Remember, when the lockdown measures lifted, Cat A was at $35k region, and Cat B at $38k region! Look at how much it has increased in just a short year.

So yes, if you look at the big big picture, and follow the trend as well as the COE numbers 10 years ago, you will also theoretically come to the same conclusion as us.

7th July 2021

First bidding of July 2021 saw Cat A decrease by $2,820, while Cat B held steady by increasing by only a modest $68. Open Cat also held steady by dropping $301.

So does that mean that the COE is not going to increase as what we predicted in our videos?

Well, in the grand scheme of things, we still believe that the COE will rise in the long term, but we will still see such fluctuations in the COE as we have seen over the years.

Compared with 2018, 2019, we are already seeing that the levels are much higher, and come 2022, 2023, the levels will be even higher than what we are seeing now (barring any policy changes).

So, for potential car buyers who are still sitting on the fence, please take this opportunity to seriously consider!

COE dropped across the board!

Cat A dropped $689 to $47,821, while Cat B saw a much bigger drop of $4,077 to $56,032.

We have one more month to go before the extra supply from the Covid lockdown is gone!

9th June 2021

Cat A rebounded by $6,709 to $48,510! 🤮

Cat B also bounced back to $60,109 with a $2,020 increase. 🥺

Cat E saw an auspicious drop of $888 though 😅

We want to remind all potential car buyers of 2 things!

1. VES surcharge will increase to $15,000 from $10,000, from 1 July 2021.

2. The extra supply due to the 3 months lockdown, was spread out from July 2020 till June 2021. This means that from 1 July 2021, we will see a decreased COE quota.

With the above 2 points, we predict that there will be upward pressure on the COE.

YAY!!!

Both Cat A and Cat B dropped!

Cat A dropped by $1638.
Cat B dropped by $1189.

Cat E crept up by $902 though, is it a sign of things to come!?

However, at least we stopped the rise of the COE!

Let's hope the prices can stabilize so that dealers as well as buyers can have more clarity! (and peace of mind)

Sorry, we are still trying to come to terms with what just happened!

Cat A rose by a "modest" $4,000, when compared to its counter parts!

Cat B rose by $8,800+
Cat C rose by $7,800+
Cat E rose by $9,900!

WOW WOW WOW!

Is this newspaper worthy? We highly suspect that it will come out in the news tomorrow!

We have already forgotten when was the last time we saw $60k region for COE!

In our last post, we did predict that the COE will continue to rise, but never in our wildest dreams would we think that it will rise by this much this fast!

This has the same feeling of back in 2016/2017 when we had "invisible hands" propping up the demand for the COE, thereby pushing up the premiums.

We shall see if the news can shed some light on who is/are actually bidding for these COEs!
