IAME Asia Pacific Games 2026 | LYL International Kart Circuit, Malaysia
A tough weekend for Fireball Motorsports, but one that showed serious promise, resilience, and progress across the board.
In Seniors, Stefano Padani ( ) and Nooris Gafoor ( ) worked relentlessly to dial in the setup throughout the weekend. Both drivers did a great job adapting, refining the kart, and executing on track.
Stefano showed strong race craft and determination all the way to the finals, finishing P7 on track. A result that reflected the fight he brought every session.
For Nooris, it was his first proper race weekend at LYL, with only one day of testing last year prior to this event. He adapted quickly, showed strong improvement through the sessions, and impressed particularly in the wet practice on Friday. While we struggled for outright pace in the finals, the development and speed shown throughout the weekend was a big positive.
In Masters, Darren Formosa was quick all weekend once again. Unfortunately, for the second week in a row, a mechanical issue out of the team’s control ended our charge. The pace is there, and Darren remains one to watch in the upcoming IAME rounds.
In Cadets, Makayla Draper and Joshua Tan made significant steps forward from Round 1. Michaela drove a strong race to finish P13, showing clear progress. Joshua demonstrated great race craft throughout the weekend. Although unlucky in the finals, the pace and confidence are building, and he’s firmly in the mix moving forward.
A weekend that showed plenty of potential, even if the final results didn’t fully reflect the speed we had. We go back to the drawing board, regroup, and prepare for Round 2 of the IAME Asia Series in Thailand.
We’ll be back stronger.
