Tomas and his Isuzu Piazza

Some cars quietly disappear into history.

Others become legends simply because so few people dared to buy them.

The Isuzu Piazza is one of those cars.

The first time I saw Tomas' Piazza, I had to look twice. The sharp wedge-shaped body, the pop-up headlights, and the unmistakable 1980s styling make it feel like a forgotten concept car that somehow escaped into production.

But what really caught my attention wasn't just the car.

It was Tomas' mindset.

He calls it the **Kaizen Project** — inspired by the Japanese philosophy of continuous improvement. Rather than rushing to finish the car, Tomas keeps refining it, one detail at a time. Every year, the Piazza becomes a little better than it was the year before.

It feels like the perfect philosophy for a Japanese classic.

When Isuzu wanted to make the Piazza even better back in the late 1980s, they turned to Lotus. The result was sharper handling, improved suspension, better steering, and a driving experience that transformed the car into something far more special than most people realize.

Tomas has embraced that same philosophy. HKS parts, carefully chosen upgrades, custom-made details, countless hours spent searching for rare components, and modifications that respect the original character of the car rather than trying to change it.

Nothing has been rushed.

Everything has a purpose.

And perhaps that's what makes this Piazza so fascinating.

It isn't just rare.

It's constantly evolving.

Micke and his Cool Cal-Look from 1967

Some cars are restored.

Micke’s 1967 Volkswagen Beetle is one of those cars that instantly tells you something about its owner. Low, clean, purposeful, and built with a clear vision from the very beginning.

The first time I saw it, I couldn't stop looking at the details. The stance. The wheels. The clean bodywork. Everything works together in a way that feels effortless — even though anyone who has built a car knows that's never the case.

The Cal-Look movement started thousands of miles away in California during the 1970s. Lightweight Beetles, lowered front ends, bigger engines, and a focus on performance rather than chrome and decoration.

Micke understood the recipe perfectly.

His Beetle captures the spirit of the original Cal-Look era while still feeling personal. Nothing feels overdone. Nothing feels forced. Just a carefully built Volkswagen that looks exactly the way it should.

But what makes the car special isn't just the appearance.

It's the passion behind it.

The countless hours spent searching for parts, solving problems, and refining details that most people would never even notice. That's where great builds are born.

The Alfa Romeo Zagato RZ — The Icon Monster

Some cars are beautiful.

Others are unforgettable.

The Alfa Romeo Zagato RZ belongs in the second category.

The first time you see it, you almost don’t know what to think. The sharp lines, the strange proportions, the futuristic front end — it looks more like a concept car that accidentally escaped onto public roads than something Alfa Romeo actually decided to produce.

And maybe that’s exactly why the RZ has become such an icon.

Built in the early 1990s as a collaboration between Alfa Romeo and Zagato, the car was never supposed to please everyone. It was bold, dramatic, weird, aggressive — and completely impossible to ignore.

That’s exactly what attracted the owner to it.

Because the RZ is a car for people who dare to love something different. Something that stands far outside the ordinary world of predictable sports cars.

Johan and his Renault Alpine A310

Johan had dreamed about a Renault Alpine A310 ever since he was a kid playing SuperTrumf.

In 2007, that dream finally became reality.

But sometimes dream cars don’t arrive as dreams.

After two seasons on the road, Johan parked the Alpine for the winter. What he and Jörgen first thought would be “just a bit of paint” turned into eight years of renovation, endless sanding, hidden damage, rotten steel tubes inside the fiberglass body, and fourteen mounting plates that were beyond saving.

Still, they refused to give up.

Piece by piece, the A310 was rebuilt in a barn in Katrineholm. The body was repaired, the front section was replaced, the car was painted in Alpine blue, and the classic rally-inspired decals found their way back onto the body.

The result is more than just a restored car.

It is a rolling piece of art.

When Johan turns the key, the engine note fills the air, the whole car comes alive, and suddenly you understand why he kept going for all those years.

Because dead things shouldn’t win over you.

GtMeister and his Jaguar XJ220

Sometimes, something just makes you take a deep breath, stop for a moment, smile, and take the next step a little slower.

Low, wide, and futuristic — as if it drove straight out of a sci-fi movie. In silver, the shape becomes even more dramatic.

Light flows across the body like liquid metal, highlighting every curve and detail in a way that still feels modern today.

The XJ220 isn’t just beautiful. It’s confident, seductive, and effortlessly sexy — a car that never needs to shout to command the attention of everyone around it.

It simply sits there — low, sleek, and perfectly sculpted — knowing exactly what it is.

seems to drive this car as if it were an ordinary daily driver — even on long journeys across Europe — exactly as it was supposed to be driven and used.

The design has made this car immortal. The endless lines, the wide rear stance, and the unmistakable silhouette have turned the XJ220 into one of the most iconic supercars ever created.

More than thirty years later, it still looks like the future, and that’s why the XJ220 will never grow old.

Demian and his VWolvo Laplander

“This is completely idiotic.”

That is how Demian himself describes building a slammed Volvo Valp on a Volkswagen chassis.

And honestly, that might be the perfect way to describe it.

The idea started years ago, after Demian ended up behind a Volvo Valp on the road and the “what if” thoughts started spinning. A rough Photoshop sketch later, the idea had already taken root.

A Volvo Valp body.
A Beetle chassis.
A lot of cutting, welding, thinking, rebuilding — and probably a few moments of wondering why he ever started.

What was supposed to be a quick Monster Garage-style build turned into nine years and around 2,000 hours of work.

The result?

A yellow Volvo box sitting just centimeters from the ground, powered by Volkswagen parts and full of clever solutions everywhere you look. Body, chassis, suspension, steering, brakes, engine bay — Demian has touched every single centimeter of this thing.

And somehow, it all works.

In 2025, Demian and his friends finally drove the homemade VWolvo all the way to Le Bug Show at Spa in Belgium — a 2,800-kilometer journey in a build that had barely been tested.

Pure madness.

But also pure genius.

Torbjörn and his Ferrari 308 GTB QV

For many people, the Ferrari 308 is the definition of a classic Ferrari.

The sharp lines from Pininfarina, the sound of the V8 behind your head, and that unmistakable feeling only an older Ferrari can deliver. A car that became a symbol of the 1980s and a dream for an entire generation.

For Torbjörn, that dream became reality.

The first time I saw his Ferrari 308 GTB QV, it immediately felt different. Not over-restored. Not hidden away. Just driven, enjoyed, and carefully modified with respect for what the car actually is.

Because this Ferrari tells a story.

A story about building your own dream car instead of chasing perfection. About improving and modifying a classic Ferrari in a way that makes it even more personal without losing its soul.

The deep red paint, the details, the stance, and the sound of the V8 all come together perfectly. It feels like the kind of Ferrari you would spot outside a small café somewhere in northern Italy during the early morning hours.

And honestly — that's probably exactly how a Ferrari 308 should feel.

Jimmy and his Nissan Skyline R34

You hear the classic "psssjuuu" - before the grey nose just turns around the corner.

For many people, the Nissan Skyline R34 is a poster car.

A car they discovered through video games, movies, and late nights spent scrolling through car magazines. A car that felt completely out of reach.

For Jimmy, it became reality.

The first time I saw his Skyline, I couldn't stop looking at it. The shape, the details, the stance — everything about the R34 reminds you why it has become one of the most iconic Japanese performance cars ever built.

But this story is about much more than horsepower.

Behind the wheel sits Jimmy, a guy who has had to fight harder than most. Life hasn't always been easy, and the Skyline became more than just a dream car. It became proof that determination, hard work, and refusing to give up can actually take you where you want to go.

Today, the car puts down 453 horsepower to the wheels and looks every bit as good as it performs. Yet the most fascinating part of the story isn't the engine, the turbo, or the numbers.

It's the journey that got him there.
