During the event, EJ Tiu Ng, EPR and Marketing Manager of Geocycle Philippines, discussed how co-processing transforms qualified waste into alternative fuels and raw materials for cement manufacturing. This solution helps divert waste from landfills while reducing reliance on traditional resources.

Today, Employees from Holcim Philippines and Geocycle Philippines volunteered alongside SM Cares for a coastal cleanup at SM by the Bay in celebration of International Coastal Cleanup Month. 🌊

After the cleanup, our volunteers sorted the collected waste to identify qualified materials for delivery to the Geocycle facility in Norzagaray, Bulacan. These materials will be used as alternative fuel in cement manufacturing, helping divert waste from landfills and supporting the transition to a more circular economy.

Holcim Philippines proudly joined the Philippine Net Zero Conference 2026, supporting meaningful dialogue and collaboration toward a low-carbon future organized by Net Zero Carbon Alliance.

During the conference, Holcim Philippines Chief Sustainability Officer Jill Ramos moderated Plenary 3, “Beyond the Pledge: Building the Policy Architecture for a Thriving Net Zero Economy.” The session explored how stable, long-term policies can help translate climate commitments into action, attract investment, and advance an inclusive and resilient net zero economy.

By bringing together government, the private sector and other stakeholders, the conference reinforced the importance of radical collaboration in accelerating the Philippines’ Net Zero ambition to implementation.
