JUST IN | Regional Bagwis Awards Evaluation Concludes in Roxas City; Ten Capiz Establishments Vie for Bronze, Silver, and Gold Bagwis Seals
Roxas City โ The Department of Trade and Industry-Capiz Provincial Office successfully concluded the Regional Bagwis Awards Evaluation for ten (10) provincial establishments on 11 August 2026 at the DTI-Capiz Provincial Office. The rigorous assessment emphasizes DTI's initiative in recognizing businesses that demonstrate strong consumer protection practices and a commitment to a responsive marketplace.

The Evaluation Committee
The Regional Bagwis Awards Evaluation Committee brought together public sector regulators, industry representatives, and consumer advocates to ensure a balanced and thorough review.

Participants underwent a structured presentation and a rigorous question-and-answer forum where committee members examined documentation compliance, consumer redress mechanisms, product and service transparency, and other Bagwis Seal criteria. The evaluation prioritized measurable practices that protect consumers and promote fair trade.
DTIโCapiz OICโProvincial Director Merian A. Asas opened the program by highlighting the Bagwis Sealโs vital role in building consumer trust and raising marketplace standards; Consumer Protection Unit Head Marjorie F. Tendras followed with a formal acknowledgment of the evaluation committee and the ten provincial nominees, while Atty. Jazer P. Miranda offered legal and regulatory guidance that reinforced the statutory foundations of the Bagwis criteria; Tendras closed the program by stressing that a responsive, accountable, and committed marketplace is essential to sustaining effective consumer protection.
The Next Step
The committee will finalize its indorsements for bronze, silver, and gold Bagwis Seals upon participants' compliance with the committee's recommendations, in accordance with DTI regional guidelines. Awardees will be formally announced and recognized in an upcoming ceremony coordinated by DTI-Capiz.
