🚗 **Ford EcoSport (White) – Update & Ongoing Troubleshooting**
The overheating issue has already been fixed. However, the **check engine light still appears during long drives, and the vehicle still experiences rough idling at times.
Upon scanning and diagnosis, the camshaft sensor detects an over-retarded timing on the exhaust camshaft, which may indicate a possible mechanical timing issue.
🔧 Initial Troubleshooting Steps:
✅ Step 1 – Engine Oil Flush & Replacement
Since this engine has a history of water and oil mixing, we recommend flushing the engine oil again and replacing it with fresh oil and a new oil filter to ensure proper lubrication and system cleanliness.
✅ Step 2 – Timing Belt & Auto Tensioner Replacement
The issue now appears to be mechanical. The timing belt may have stretched due to contamination from oil and water, and the auto tensioner may already be weak. This could explain why, even after several retiming attempts, we still cannot achieve the exact timing specification.
⚙️ Proper diagnosis and step-by-step troubleshooting are important to fully restore engine performance and reliability.
