ANG PINAKABAGONG TAXI NG LA TRINIDAD NA HINDI PWEDI SA BAGUIO
The Stargazer Hyundai worth around P1.2M

Forty newly introduced gray taxis are set to serve commuters exclusively within La Trinidad and nearby towns, excluding Baguio City.

The taxis will be operated by the Highlanders Taxi and Tourist Transport Service Cooperative (HTTTSC), a local transport cooperative based in La Trinidad. The initiative marks a major step in improving local transportation services and providing safer, more convenient travel options for residents outside Baguio City’s urban routes.

According to HTTTSC, the cooperative will initially manage 40 units, all covered under a proposed taxi franchise to be issued by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

These units form part of the 200 taxi franchises opened by the LTFRB pursuant to Memorandum Circular 2019-016, which outlines the guidelines for the issuance of new taxi franchises in the Cordillera region. The initiative also complies with the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP), which mandates the consolidation of franchises under accredited transport cooperatives and corporations.

Once operational, the new gray taxis are expected to boost local mobility in La Trinidad and its neighboring municipalities, offering an alternative public transport option while promoting the government’s modernization efforts in the transport sector.

The Hyundai Stargazer is a family-oriented MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) known for its futuristic design, spacious interior, and fuel-efficient 1.5L Smartstream engine paired with an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT). Launched in the Philippines in 2022, it offers seating for seven adults and is available in different variants, including the sporty Stargazer X which features a more rugged, SUV-like exterior.

The 2025 Hyundai Stargazer in the Philippines starts at Php 1,068,000 for the 1.5 GL IVT variant and can go up to Php 1,298,000 for the top-spec 1.5 GLS Premium IVT 6-Seater model. Other variants include the 1.5 GLS IVT at Php 1,198,000 and the 1.5 GLS Premium IVT 7-Seater at Php 1,288,000.
