The Regional Juvenile Justice and Welfare Committee (RJJWC), Regional Sub-Committee for the Welfare of Children (RSCWC), and Regional Committee Against Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (RCAT-VAWC) CAR convened for their 2nd Quarter Joint Inter-Agency Committee Meeting on June 24, 2026, at the Function Hall, National Telecommunication Commission (NTC) Leonard Wood, Baguio City to strengthen the implementation of the Republic Act No. 9344, as amended, and to ensure better outcomes for children in the region.
The meeting was presided over by Dir. Enrique H. Gascon Jr., OIC-Regional Director of Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office CAR.
Key highlights of the meeting included:
β’ Resolution Endorsing the Extension of Membership of CFSPI and SLU-Sunflower Child and Youth Wellness Center β Strengthens multi-sectoral collaboration by retaining experienced NGO partners that provide specialized services for Children at Risk (CAR) and Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL), ensuring the continuity of child-focused interventions and support.
β’ Draft Proposed Guidelines No. 01, s. 2026: Referral System of CAR and CICL Cases Using JJMIS β Promotes timely and coordinated service delivery through a standardized referral system, clearly defined agency roles, improved case documentation and monitoring, and enhanced inter-agency coordination using the Juvenile Justice Management Information System (JJMIS).
β’ Status of Implementation of the CRJIP β Strengthens the implementation of juvenile justice programs by reviewing progress, identifying implementation gaps, refining strategies, and reinforcing coordinated efforts to deliver effective prevention, intervention, diversion, rehabilitation, and reintegration services for CAR and CICL.
