This one was a whole lot of car for the money. I brought a whole lot of enquiry but nobody seemed in a hurry to want to follow through. Extremely surprising.
Neil was the opposite. He asked the right questions a quickly made his way to Tauranga to inspect / drive / purchase.

NZTA STRIKES AGAIN

Westcoast Classic Imports sells its late model cars with a new 12 month WOF, registration extended out 12 months in advance & a full tank of fuel. Pretty decent package really.

Well, that was until now.
NZTA have recently done away with the green MR27 form which allowed you to extend registration to a nominated date - anything up to 15 months in advance. No problem, you can now do that on the new version of the MR1B. Opps, no, if the vehicle has at least six months rego already you cannot extend it.

Surely this must be a system glitch? Nope.
The kind folk at NZTA Motor Registration say that is no longer possible manually at NZTA agents (VTNZ, Post Shop etc), nor online.

Oh dear NZTA. This is ridiculous. The advice I was given by the rather terse NZTA CS person was to make a complaint... 🤦

Why on earth would a government department prevent you from paying a 'tax' in advance?????

If the government wants to save some money they should start with a cleaning in this department. They do so many ridiculous things.
