Striker Sea Charters Ltd is owned by Rik Flowerday and skippered by Rusty Ensor and Chris Donovan. Striker is a 48ft Riveria that has been renown for game fishing and catching Marlin since the 90s when now retired skipper Bruce Smith operated her in the Bay of Islands. She has caught two notable catches both black marlin 1000lb and travelled as far as Cairns in Australia and Vanuatu several times.
Striker is in NZ Maritime survey to work offshore areas such as Ranfurly Banks and Three Kings and is set up as a game fishing machine and to accommodate 8 anglers in style on overnight and multi day trips and parties of up to 18 on daytrips. Russell Ensor or Rusty as he is known by, has been skippering charters since he was a teenager learning from his dad Hugh who owned Blue Ocean Charters and operating the Ratihi & Te Kuia for many many years. Rusty has followed his dads footsteps and carried on his legacy running charters and has accumulated a huge following in the Bay of Plenty and wider that keep coming back year after year. Rusty and his brother Scotty (who is Strikers relief skipper) have a world of knowledge and experience behind the helm, and they fish with two generations of fishing spots up their sleeve. They always love to share their knowledge and enthusiasm to all who are wanting to learn and will work hard to ensure everyone gets the results they came for.
