Dear followers, some big (sad) news. This is the end of 'The OSLO Saga', and we have painfully decided to scrap the old girl, Oslo.
It's multifaceted and detail will come in time. We know this will come as a disapointment! A series of events has unfolded. Briefly, in order;
- The problems to fix started expanding out of sight (backbone rot, many bad fasteners)
- Burning dedication shattered by significant burn out (partly due to other life stuff)
- Out of the blue, VERY unexpectedly and completely unplanned, WE GOT GIVEN a decent condition 29.5ft fiberglass sailboat (Compass H28)
- Life presented the time to move on. The H28 was gifted by a friend who could see how badly the condition of Oslo was the more we dug in.
Now things are very uncomfortably bittersweet. We have really been trying to make something work and to build a future life, skills and experience for ourselves (just as much in video making) and its been a slow uphill battle most of the way. This is the kind of thing you hope works out before your situation in life changes too much, but alas, we tried very hard.
This will become a series conclusion video at some point but we need a break. The new boat hasn't settled in but we do plan to continue videos and hope the adventures we were working towards can just come a lot sooner. It will have to be under a new channel name of course! We want to make more variety of videos and try new things but there will be plenty more boat work and videos.
