As a youngster I owned a small collection of pen knives and after spending two years living in the South Island of New Zealand, I was inspired to make my first knife. My best friend also set the process in motion by showing me a copy of Wayne Goddard's "The Wonder of Knifemaking" and my copy has been well used over the years. The idea for the name KnappoKnives came from my nickname of many years "

Knappo". Born and bred in the North Island of New Zealand, I grew up in typical outdoor "Kiiwi" fashion, enjoying hunting, horses, hiking and motorcycles - not that I get much time to do many of these things now days! I expect my knives to be functional and hard working, but also something to be enjoyed, treasured and then handed down through the family.
