We’ve had quite a few questions about why Max Verstappen wasn’t driving one of the orange Spykers during the Drivers Parade at Zandvoort.

The answer is simple: he was driving something even more special.

Max Verstappen joined Jasper den Dopper in Spyker 001 — the very first Spyker ever built.
Spyker is Dutch. Max is Dutch. And when you have the opportunity to put a Dutch Formula 1 World Champion behind the wheel of the very first Spyker ever made, there really was only one choice.

Spyker 001 isn’t just another Spyker. It represents where the story began — a piece of Dutch automotive heritage that was given a very special place in the Drivers Parade. Sometimes, the most special car in the lineup doesn’t need to be orange.

The word is out! Jasper aka SpykerEnthusiast will be organizing the drivers parade during the last Formula 1 race at the Circuit of Zandvoort in the Netherlands 🇳🇱

No fewer than 22 Spyker C8 and Double12 Spyder models—nearly 10% of all Spykers ever built—will come together from private collections around the world, with owners travelling from countries including Canada, South Africa, and the United States.

Behind the scenes, we’re working tirelessly to prepare every car for this once-in-a-lifetime event, making special modifications to ensure the drivers can safely stand and greet the crowd during the parade.

For the first time in almost 20 years, Spyker will return to the Formula 1 spotlight. A historic moment for Dutch motorsport, and one that may never be repeated.
