A tune up service on a 2012 Toyota Camry.
What is tune up service?
It is a routine service on cars after it has traveled for a specified number of miles/km, or if the car is exhibiting one or more of the following conditions:
1. Flashing "check engine/service engine soon" light which is a sign of multiple cylinder misfire
2. The car is jerking
3. Rough idling
4. Engine stalling when brake is applied
5. System too rich or too lean condition. This can only be detected by running scan, and many more possible symptoms.
Tune up service involves :
1. Checking and replacing the spark plugs .
2. Servicing the fuel injectors.
3. Cleaning or outright change of fuel filter and/or fuel pump.
4. Servicing the throttle body (popularly call injector mouth by road side mechanic)
5. Checking and fixing vacuum leak where it exist .
6. Checking for bad ignition coil(s) and replacing them.
7. Replacing clogged air filter.
8. A misfire is sometimes caused by bad oxygen sensors and/or bad mass air flow (MAF) sensor.
