Step 1: Stop and assess the depth. If you cannot see the road surface, do not enter.
Step 2: If you decide to proceed, drive slowly in first gear.
Step 3: After clearing, test your brakes gently while moving.

Overtaking on Nigerian roads kills more people than potholes.

Before you overtake, ask yourself four things: Can I see far enough ahead? Is there oncoming traffic? Is the car ahead signaling to turn? Is the road wide enough?

If you are not 100 percent sure on all four, do not overtake.
