Public office is a trust — not a privilege.
Every public office holder is accountable first and foremost to the people, not to a political party, inner circle, allies, or family interests. The “people” represent a far broader and more diverse constituency whose needs, voices, and expectations must come first.
No matter your role — whether in security, governance, law, or public service — the moment you assume a position where others look to you for direction, guidance, or decisions, you carry a responsibility that goes beyond personal or political loyalty.
Leadership demands accountability to the public. The earlier this is understood and embraced, the stronger and more just our institutions will become.
