IMPORTANT ROAD USERS KNOWLEDGE.

1. A driver of a vehicle being overtaken shall not increase the speed of the vehicle until the overtaking is completed

2. A pedestrian shall wait for traffic lights to turn red before crossing a road at a junction that is controlled by traffic lights.

3. A driver shall not follow an emergency vehicle travelling in response to an emergency at a distance that is close to fifty metres

4. A driver of a vehicle shall give the right of way to a pedestrian who is on a pedestrian crossing which is not controlled by traffic sign, school warden, road traffic inspector or a police officer

5. A child under the age of ten is not allowed to occupy a front seat in a saloon car

6.Putting a phone on your laps whilst driving is an offence

7. That a pedestrians keeps right when walking facing on coming vehicles( read highway code on pedestrians)

8.It's a valid defense not to stop but rush to the nearest police for protection in an event where you hit a pedestrian in crowded areas.

There's what we call mob justice in some areas once you hit a person, they can set your vehicle ablaze.

Therefore road traffic act permits that you report yourself because in the presence of a police officer, your life will be protected.

Just a caution hit and run has serious consequences and most of them are usually caught.

9. Drivers of emergency vehicles are by law allowed to speak on the phone while in ex*****on of their duties

10. It's illegal to write on your motor vehicle for hire, unless there's in place a road service license authorising such use otherwise the law doesn't allow anyone to hire out a private motor vehicle

7. Your driver's license allows you to only drive automatic vehicles.

9. Not all offenses gives you 7days in which to pay( spot fines) they are what we call impoundable and non impoundable offences

Examples of impoundable offences
1.all expired tokens or discs are impoundable
2. Unlicensed driver is impoundable
3. Driving a motor in a dangerous condition is impoundable
4. Obstruction of roadway is impoundable etc
