When you See it...
It's not everyday you wake up with positive vibes, and when you do, what do you do about it?
When Last Friday morning came with positive vibes... I chose to share some of it. I saw a funny yet smart looking referral Poster on my Anty's status and a " light bulb switched on" in my mind. I ended up getting some vital lessons I hope not to forget soon.
I decided to give one or two persons the chance to add a few more design samples to their freelancer portfolios. I tagged it "Remake this for my Brand" challenge.
The first respondent submitted in less than 5 minutes and the carbon copy output did blow my mind away. Grrrr... Only if the branding matched. While trying to guide him to make needed edits, I got 2 more responses from a guy and then a Lady.
The first respondent unfortunately seemed to have thought he had reached the finish line. I didn't hear from him again. I decided to spice the game up a bit with some tests for the other 2 respondents. The outcome? Both consistently demonstrated that willingness to do better was more important than the Prize.
The initial plan was to pick one for third, second and first position. I however decided to change the scoring formular.
A fourth respondent came along but I felt there's no more room for more. Respondent A at this time was still slacking off but I didn't mind.
I eventually announced the guy and Lady as the first prize winners and the 4th respondent as Second place.
Yes, I understand you were not there when it happened, but did you capture the possible reasons why I rewarded the 3 other respondents and lessons learnt?
