President Olusegun Obasanjo, Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari, in all their years in office put together, appropriated about ₦135 trillion in federal budgets over roughly 24 years.

NB: Naira was around ₦100- ₦400 to a dollar, fuel never got to over ₦300 per litre during their administrations and a bag of rice never crossed ₦30,000.

Then came Tinubu. In just three budgets (2024, 2025 and 2026), his administration has spent about ₦153.2 trillion.

And instead of making life easier, Naira is now ₦1400 to $1, we now buy fuel for over ₦1,300 per litre and a bag of rice is now around ₦70,000 - ₦100,000

A member of Nigeria's House of Representatives representing Maru/Bungudu Federal Constituency in Zamfara State, Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu (Zannan Bungudu), has called on his constituents to withdraw their money and buy weapons to defend themselves against insecurity.

"I advise the people I represent to take out their money and buy guns for self-defence. Whether it's an AK-47 or any other weapon, if they know where to get it, they should arm themselves and protect their communities," the lawmaker said.

If elected officials are openly urging civilians to acquire rifles for self-defence, what does that reveal about public confidence in Nigeria's ability to provide security?

These are bandits sheltering around what appears to be a government-owned school. It's heartbreaking to see how insecurity has reduced communities to this. If cameras were placed here for the world to see, the reality on the ground would speak louder than any political debate. Yet, whenever people raise these concerns, some are quick to dismiss them as politics instead of acknowledging the suffering. The picture clearly shows that the community has lost so much: people have been displaced from their homes, children have been denied the education they deserve, and families have been pushed deeper into poverty. These are not just statistics; they are people's lives. May Almighty Allah bring peace to Nigeria, protect innocent civilians, and grant relief to everyone affected🙏
