This lone tree, thriving in an otherwise barren landscape, is a reminder of what resilience can achieve. It undoubtedly has magical properties, which can be felt in its presence and the absolute silence of the desert that surrounds it. It’s not the only such tree in the area but it is ideally suited along one of the roads of our guided tours and we do pay homage to its presence by stopping to rest, gratefully, under its umbrella like spread that creates the shade that provides a welcome relief from the intense sun. 📸

One of the stops for the night during our guided tours to the southern part of Namibia is the Desert Horse Inn at Klein Aus Vista. It is located just outside the quaint little town of Aus. For some desert solitude and spectacular views, spend a little more and with your own rental motorcycle stay in one of the beautiful self catering stone cottages at the Eagle’s Nest. 📸
