The Sound of Mongolia, Framed 🖤

Preserved at Hard Rock Cafe Ulaanbaatar, this khengereg — a traditional Mongolian drum — is a special piece connected to The HU, the band that brought Mongolian rock to the world stage.

This drum was used in the recording of “Wolf Totem”, one of The HU’s most powerful tracks from their debut album The Gereg. The song blends Mongolian throat singing, traditional instruments, and heavy rock energy, creating a sound that has captured audiences around the world.

More than just an instrument, this khengereg represents the voice, culture, and spirit of Mongolia — carried through music and framed as part of rock history.
