FOL Whites 3-3 Willington Blues

What a great game! Both teams played some really good football from start to finish.

Somehow the Blues found themselves 2-0 up, but the lads pulled one back just before half time with Vinnie smashing home from David’s pass.

Half time: 2-1.

The second half started with both teams continuing to play some lovely football. The lads won a corner and David delivered a great ball in for Pem to get on the end of and make it 2-2.

The game became more and more end-to-end and was a brilliant watch for everyone there. David then went on a great run and was fouled on the edge of the box, but the ref played advantage and Vinnie raced in to grab his second goal of the game and put us 3-2 up.

With only a couple of minutes left, a Willington player hit an unstoppable shot into the top corner to make it 3-3.

Final whistle.

I can honestly say every lad on that pitch worked their socks off.

Max made some amazing saves and gave the team all the confidence they needed. The defence of Miles and the two Lukes were outstanding. Charlie in centre midfield was relentless all game. Vinnie and Jaxson worked tirelessly on the wings, getting up and down the pitch all match. David, who played across a few different positions, showed exactly why we signed him with a strong and solid performance wherever he was asked to play.

Excellent performance against the top of the league team!
