I had such an amazing time at Corona PD’s Kids & Cops Holiday Magic Event earlier this month ! Seeing familiar faces, so many smiles, spreading holiday cheer, and being part of something that brings the community together is what this season is all about.

Dreams come and go, but making them a reality is something else.
Seeing London, Oxford, and of course, Silverstone with my own eyes has been a dream come true!
Why make the 5,000+ mile journey across the pond?
Well… it wasn’t for F1—it was to support Ricky in the Walter Hayes Trophy at the legendary Silverstone Circuit!
The Walter Hayes Trophy is one of the biggest Formula Ford events of the season—105 cars registered, only 36 make it to the Grand Finale. Ricky was one of those 36! Starting 28th and finishing 14th… and then being awarded the JEP Star of Tomorrow Trophy to top it all off.
I’ve watched Ricky grow in racing over the last 4.5 years—from competing against each other at Wheel2Wheel to go-kart races, Formula Ford with VARA, Formula Ford the Series with SCCA (where he claimed the 2024 FFTS Championship and Driver of the Year), winning the Pacific F2000 Festival, and racing in the United Formula Ford Series across the pond.
But nothing compares to seeing it all firsthand—hearing the engines, feeling the atmosphere, and watching it unfold from pit lane. It was unforgettable.
Witnessing the Walter Hayes Trophy in person has left me in awe. I’m proud, blessed, and humbled to know Ricky and to be part of his journey.
Congratulations on this incredible accomplishment, Ricky—keep up the hard work, and all will be rewarded.

The car and night was going great, until I got launched in the air not once, but twice by a car that isn’t in spec for a 500 class.

Heat 1• Started 2nd, Finished 3rd due to be ran into the side and launched into the air on the final lap
Heat 2• Started 1st, Finished 1st.
Main• Started 1st, Finished 7th. I had a solid run, until I was once again launched in the air, dropping back half a lap, and making my way forward with the motor sputtering and running flat.

The car does great the first 2 race just for the main to be a complete fail! (There were 4 cars)

Heat 1• 1st had an amazing battle with Liam
Heat 2• 3rd
Main• I started front row and finished 4th out of 4 cars. My car was moving no where but backwards, set up and power disappeared.

It was a rough ending to our night.

We got invited to perris raceway to throw our restrictor plate in and play around a bit (thankfully we took our spare car)

Heat 1- 6th we continued to have engine issues
Heat 2- DNS due to the presumed engine issues
Main- 3rd (DNF) We finally got the engine running back to normal and was doing then. Turn 3/4 on the final lap was where it all ended. I unfortunately had no where to go and ended up on my side. Walked away with a few large bruises and soreness but okay!

Thank you for the invite to Perris! We cannot wait for another visit!

We got to the track and found a crack in the frame, so we threw it in the truck and took it to “emergency surgery”

Heat- 1st
Dash- DNS we had some engine issues a which were later resolved
Main- 8th due to working on the engine, we ran out of time to fix the set up and just ran with what we had

It was a rough race but we pushed through to the end!
We wouldn’t be able to do this without the amazing support of family, friends and our amazing sponsors!
