WING vs SQ-7. My Opinion.

I’m just going to say it.

Stock-for-stock, with no added plug-ins, I believe the Behringer WING is the better console.

I recently had the opportunity to record drums for an upcoming gospel song at a church in Eldoret using the WING, and it was an absolute pleasure to work on. Thanks to Mic Micrule for making it happen. The song will be out soon.

I still need proper hands-on time with the Allen & Heath SQ+ before I can put this opinion in stone. Until then, the WING gets my vote.

Dirk Ulrich Returns. Founders Don’t Lose. They Rebuild.

Twenty years ago, Dirk Ulrich built Brainworx with one mission: create audio tools professionals could rely on. That vision became Brainworx, Plugin Alliance, and an ecosystem trusted by millions.

Then he lost control of the company he built.

Most people would have accepted that chapter as the end.

Instead, on July 15, 2026, Dirk re-acquired Brainworx and Plugin Alliance, bringing them back under founder leadership through RCKFRC.

What struck me most wasn’t the acquisition.

It was that customers weren’t asking for new plugins.

They were asking whether their licenses would still work. Whether the products they depended on had a future.

This story resonates with me personally.

I know what it’s like to be forced out of a business my partner and I built. It changed the course of my life. The details are a story for another day.

But vision, experience, and the ability to build again cannot be confiscated.

History has been made.

Skillet’s Monster has officially become the first Christian song to surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify.

To many people, this is just another statistic.

To me, it’s proof that excellence always has an audience.

The song didn’t compromise its message to become successful. It simply communicated timeless truth through outstanding songwriting, production, and performance.

As creatives, we often underestimate how far our work can travel when we focus on quality instead of trends.

I’ve always believed that faith and creativity are not opposing forces. In fact, some of the most enduring art in history has been inspired by faith.

The challenge isn’t making “Christian” music.

The challenge is making unforgettable music.

This milestone should encourage every artist, producer, songwriter, filmmaker, and entrepreneur who believes purpose and commercial success can coexist.

Congratulations to Skillet for showing the world that they can.

One billion streams later, the message remains the same: excellence speaks every language.

After more than 25 years in music, I’ve come to one conclusion.

I’ve never seen an industry filled with so many unfulfilled promises, broken trust, unachieved goals, unreleased projects, and dreams left waiting for their moment.

An industry where disappointment could easily become bitterness.

Yet somehow, it doesn’t.

What continues to amaze me is the unwavering belief artists, producers, engineers, writers, managers, and dreamers have in tomorrow. We keep showing up. We keep creating. We keep believing. At the center of it all is a shared love for the art and a quiet hope that, despite everything, we genuinely want the best for one another.

That’s why Michael Jackson’s words continue to resonate with me:

“In a world filled with hate, we must still dare to hope. In a world filled with anger, we must still dare to comfort. In a world filled with despair, we must still dare to dream. And in a world filled with distrust, we must still dare to believe.”

Perhaps that’s what keeps music alive.
