The BMW Z3 Roadster, designed by Tokyo-born Joji Nagashima. This particular model still holds its original ten-hole 15" alloy wheels.

The Z3 was brought into notoriety by the James Bond film GoldenEye. This was somewhat controversial with Bond fans, as it was the first non-British car used as 007’s prime mode of transportation.

For BMW’s advertising team it was a different story. While the film was number one at the box office, sales of the car spiked. The entire 1996 BMW Z3 Roadster production run — more than 15,000 cars — was sold out before the car was even officially introduced.

This Mini could be anywhere between 1976 and 2000. The design of the Mini stayed pretty much the same from 1959 until the end of production in 2000, with only minor adjustments to exterior cosmetics over seven generations.

An interesting little fact is that the first generation of Mini had no traditional car radio, instead it had a rather large ashtray. Alec Issigonis, the designer, was an excessive smoker and considered a car radio to be an unnecessary extravagance. He received a Knighthood for his efforts.

The Mini also came in a close second to the Car of the Century award, only pipped by Ford’s Model T. By 2000, 5,387,862 had been made and sold.

The Mercedes-Benz 300D circa 1980, spotted in Phnom Penh wearing a bold split orange and off-white coat, 20-inch rims that twinkle in the sun, and custom rear arches to match.

The W123 is known as “the million kilometre car,” built to last and loved the world over. Yet here it takes on a very Cambodian remix of durability and flash. Stuttgart might not approve, but Phnom Penh streets seem to.
