From Pole Position in his qualifying group to standing on the podium at one of the most iconic karting circuits in the world.

It wasn't the easiest weekend for Alfie Mair at La Conca, but sometimes championship campaigns are built on the weekends that fight back.

After a difficult Prefinal left him with work to do, Alfie charged from 11th to 3rd in the Final against one of the strongest grids in international karting, extending his lead in the Italian ACI Karting Championship in the process.

The Italian ACI Karting Championship has helped shape the careers of some of motorsport's biggest names, making this championship lead even more impressive.

We've taken a closer look at the weekend, the significance of La Conca, the challenge of the ACI Championship and why Alfie's latest result could be a huge moment in his 2026 season.

Non è stato un weekend semplice per Alfie Mair a La Conca, ma spesso i campionati si costruiscono proprio nei momenti più difficili.

Dopo una Prefinale complicata che lo ha costretto a rincorrere, Alfie ha messo in scena una straordinaria rimonta dall'11° al 3° posto nella Finale, contro alcuni dei migliori giovani piloti internazionali, consolidando così la sua leadership nel Campionato Italiano ACI Karting.

ACI CAMP ITA | LA CONCA

Tough day turned into a strong finish.

The kart has felt a little off today, not quite settled. That's a hard way to spend a day of racing.

Heat 2 came up P6. Not terrible, but not quite where you want to be, but you work with what you've got. You take it, you learn it, you push on.

Heat 3 is where it mattered. The same kart, the same day, the same obstacles. But Alfie didn't accept P6. He went out and took P1.

That's not luck. That's figuring out what works, that's racecraft, that's refusing to let a difficult day define the outcome. You can't always have the perfect kart. Sometimes you have to race the one you've got and make it work.

Official results are NOT out, but by our calculations, Pre-Final B starts with Alfie on the second row.

ACI CAMP ITA | LA CONCA

Una giornata difficile trasformata in un grande finale.

La macchina non si è sentita bene oggi, non proprio assestata. È un modo difficile per passare una giornata di gara.

Heat 2 è arrivato P6. Non terribile, ma non esattamente dove vorresti essere, però lavori con quello che hai. Lo prendi, lo impari, continui a spingerti.

Heat 3 è stato quello che contava. Lo stesso kart, lo stesso giorno, gli stessi ostacoli. Ma Alfie non ha accettato P6. È uscito e ha preso P1.

Non è fortuna. È capire cosa funziona, è tattica di gara, è rifiutare di lasciare che una giornata difficile definisca il risultato. Non puoi sempre avere il kart perfetto. A volte devi correre quello che hai e farlo funzionare.

I risultati ufficiali NON sono ancora usciti, ma dai nostri calcoli, la Pre-Final B inizia con Alfie in seconda fila.

MINI GR.3 GROUP B

Four heats across the day to sort the field. Alfie's racing twice, once this morning, once this afternoon. The points from his heats determine where he lines up for Sunday's prefinal and final.

First chance to rack up points and get a feel for the track.

15:35 | HEAT 4
Back-to-back sessions with the other group in between. Need to stay sharp and consistent through both.

Quattro batterie durante la giornata per ordinare il campo. Alfie corre due volte, una questa mattina, una questo pomeriggio. I punti dalle sue batterie determinano dove si schiera domenica per la prefinale e la finale.

Round-up: La Conca Day 1 🏁

Solid start to the weekend. Qualified pole in Group B, 2nd overall, that's the where you want to be as you are heading into the heats.

Heat 1 was intense.
Plenty of action out there, some really good racing, but it didn't quite go our way. Finished P6, which isn't quite where we want to be, but that's racing at this level, and it is good points in the bag.

Lessons learned, and we come back stronger tomorrow.

Two more heats to go. Still plenty of points up for grabs before the final.

Un buon inizio al weekend. Qualificato pole in Gruppo B, 2° assoluto, quella è la base che vuoi avere prima delle batterie.

La prima batteria è stata intensa. C'è stata molta azione, buone gare, ma non è andata dalla nostra parte oggi. Finito P6, non è dove vogliamo essere, ma questo è il karting a questo livello. Lezioni imparate, regolazioni da fare, e torneremo più forti domani.

Due batterie ancora. C'è ancora un sacco di punti in palio prima della finale.

La Conca's tight and unforgiving, so consistency through the heats is what matters. Need to be smart, take the lead and stay out of trouble, with a championship to fight for every single point matters.
