What do you think, which is the hardest part of rendering such an old a famous car family as the Lamborghini Countach?
Finding out how represent the cars' as silhouettes? Nope. After 2000+ silhouettes it's easy for me, and this is the best part of it. I love it.
Finding proper base photos? Not really. However it was harder ten years ago and it can be hard for some not so obscure old cars, but Countach is not among them. There are a lot of side view photos of all of its versions.
Dealing with the data? Yes. It would be too easy to use the data of Wikipedia (Not forget to support them!) which is 4140 mm length and 2450 mm wheelbase for the Countach. I suppose they do not count with US-spec (ugly AF) bumpers. But what about those sites which gives 4240 mm length and 2500 mm wheelbase for the 5000 QV and 25th Anniversary. Some of them even 2473 mm wb for the 25th.
Not to mention the sources about the increased interior of LP400 S Series 3, and even more increase in 25th. I had to figured out, that LP400 S S3 lost its periscopic roof, and some dashboard redesign resulted the growth, so from side view the dimensions were not changed. The 25th also gained some increase from the interior redesign.
So what is the verdict? Was I right, when I represented all the versions of the Countach with the same length a decade ago? (Wheelbase is not relevant, as I don't render wheels, just wheel arches.) I would say, yes, because I have found two scanned original EU-spec Lamborghini brochures, one from 1982 (LP500 S - 4140/2450) one from 1989 (25th Anniversary - 4140/2500). I just hope, they were right.
Anyway, it is still my old 25th Anniversary silhouette.

This is how I rendered my first Countach, the LP400 twelve years ago. Some details still amaze me, how could I do that way. See them on the second slide! I will completely renew it together its successors*, but I want to keep its main character. But I'm sure the NACA duct will get a better representation.

It's time to hit the road to Sant'Agata Bolognese! The design of the Lamborghini Countach is more than half a century old, yet it still looks like it came from the future. Grazie Signor Gandini.

My original Jaguar sports car series I rendered in 2015 together with the later added XKSS, E-Type S2-S2, F-Type Project 7 and facelift contained 28 silhouettes. I started the renew them in early April this year, and completed the task yesterday, at the end of August (with a lot of detours).
The new version contains 138(!) silhouettes. Race cars, facelifts, factory model range, custom models, aftermarket modifications were added, and I could add at least a dozen more cars. Maybe later, but now I turn to other brands, and continue listing the Jags in my shop (link in bio). The renewed British Alphabet and the Open Cats history (with added XKSS instead of XK140 and XK150) are already available. More detailed model history series and more color schemes are coming. Or what the customers ask for. Do you know Jaguar-fans in person? Tag them in the comments!

I spotted almost all kind of front-engine Jaguar sports cars from SS 100 to the F-Type, including lot of versions, (e.g. a Project 7 in 2016 at Gumball 3000, but at night and I have no photo of it). There is one car on my "to spot" list: XKSS.

- Did you know that the Jaguar F-Type Project 7 has a shorter windscreen than the Convertible?
- Did you know it, that the US-spec models are exception, because of the different rollover safety rules?
- Did you know that car's removable roof includes a a three-part rear window and a canvas top?
If you said yes to all three questions above, you can be an expert and maybe you can explain to us the rear wing situation.
I found a lot of images of Project 7 and some of the cars has vertical, some has tilted rear wing mounting, and in these the rear wing is way backward position. (Compare the first two silhouettes to the 3rd and 4th!) As I know, the Project 7 has a manually adjustable fixed rear wing, but I don't know whether this explains the wing positions.
So, expert's help needed!
And you can find this series in my shop, and wait for more F-Type series, because I completed the history. (Only a couple of concept and race cars, and custom bodies left to render.)

Kind of strange, but most of my F-Type spottings were in or near by Como, Italy. It's natural in case of the superexotic...

My De Tomaso history is almost ten years old, so before I could add new members, including Ares Design Panther and P72 I want to refresh it. Anyway, I found this unpublished Pantera series with the rare targa models, so I show it before I move on. BTW, does anyone knows the real length of the P72? Sources says different values between 4593 mm and 4850 mm, and I calculated about 4700 mm, but I would need the proper value. Can anyone help me?
