Yamaha is preparing to launch a new sportbike in India — the YZF-R2 — with a media event reportedly scheduled for 27 August 2026.
Positioning: The R2 will sit above the R15 and below the R3, filling a long-standing gap in Yamaha's Indian lineup. It will be sold alongside the R15, not as a replacement.
