🚗 Avoid NCT Hassles This Winter—Check the Big Three!

Winter means tougher conditions and more NCT failures. Focus on these essentials to avoid a retest:

✅ Headlights & Lighting – Replace bulbs in pairs, clean lenses, check aim, and don’t forget sidelights, indicators, brake lights and wipers.
✅ Tyres – The legal minimum tread in Ireland is 1.6 mm, but 3 mm is best for wet winter driving. Check for cracks, bulges and ensure proper pressure and alignment.
✅ Brakes – Look out for uneven wear, seized calipers or old brake fluid. Proper inspection ensures solid stopping power when it matters.

Did you know the legal minimum tread in Ireland is 1.6 mm, but for wet roads and safety, you should aim for 3 mm?
