As well engineered as it was, there's no doubt that the the original 1960-1961 Plymouth Valiant was one of the weirdest looking automitve confection ls ever offered to the public. So what happened when the inevitable occured and Dodge wanted their version?
The answer is this 1960-1961 DODGE LANCER. Not the Japanese one, the more Americanized Lancer, the one with better-finished design than its Plymouth counterpart. It has one of the most interesting designs on that era with a sharply pointed front end that brings the hood, grille, and bright bumper to the same aggressive tip. And those distinct wraparound tailfins give this compact an extended profile. As one of the early-60's Virgil Exner design, it has endlessly fascinating design to look at, rather than just plain ugly.
Under its hood, there is sterling performance, which made it one if (if not) the best performing six-cylinder compacts around. Lancer powered by 145hp, one barrel, 225-cu.in. Slant-Six engine. Its hardy and torque filled engine.
Lancer only produced for two years and of course this Dodge Lancer is one of the unit that survive until now in Indonesia, a beautiful gem with artfull look behind our garage's door.
