It’s has been a slow process but it’s well worth it!
We have gone with a different approach with the power upgrade package with this ND MX5.
Instead of going turbo charger, we gone with a Elderbrock Charger kit, mainly targeting for throttle response, improve low range torque and pick up which is made prefect for Hong Kong road condition.
Instead of going for the usual HK Brake upgrade package, we have gone with this Wilwood caliper setup which the balance is just prefect! We often have to to adjust the brake balance with different pads compound on these Mx5 running overpowered front calipers.
The hardest and longest time developing this package was the tuning. The base map from Elderbrock was only made for the US Market and tuned for 91 octane, meaning no map loading and needs to be custom tuned. With the pandemic our tuner could not be here, to carry out the task in person but with the technology now days, we made use of the electronic and completed the tune remotely.
With the Stage 1 Edlerbrock Supercharger Kit and the bolt up upgrades, running higher octane, the Skyactive 2.0 motor produce up to 220hp at the wheels, power increase up to 45% and torque gain up to 40% !
Another successful package put together for our local market / HK Driving conditions.
