「同遊」

繼AVW88 (LZ5771)及 AVW89(LZ6455)於七月上旬退出服務後，現存服役的咸蛋只剩餘AVW92(LZ8705)一部。九巴於同月舉辦「夏日賞童遊」活動中，亦特意將AVW92外觀翻新成以投入服務初期面貌並停泊於活動現場與參加者見面。

於最後一日舉辦的「夏日賞童遊」活動當日早上，AVW92特意行走來往葵涌村及青衣站的路線44M後再停泊於青衣站出席活動，最後再駛回車廠停泊。「咸蛋一號」趕及完成小維修，把握最後機會與其相聚。

以下為「咸蛋一號」與「最後咸蛋」AVW92 (LZ8705)共聚的數刻。當日有細心的朋友發現「咸蛋一號」與以往有些小不同，大家亦可嘗試留意一下。

**後記：翻查資料得知，「咸蛋一號」曾於服役時翻油後的一段時間經常出現於44M路線，活動當日難得重遊舊地。

「Travel together」
After the retirement of two Wright Explorer bodied Volvo B10TL (AVW88 and AVW89), there is only one Wright Explorer bodied Volvo B10TL left (AVW92 LZ8705). In July, KMB launched the free ride days for kids-themed bus tours and arranged AVW92 to be displayed on-site in its firstly launched outlook.

In the day of 30 July, AVW92 was firstly scheduled in service on the route 44M, then parked at Tsing Yi Station Bus Terminus for the tour and back to depot finally. Reunion with he prototype Wright Explorer bodied Volvo B10TL could be achieved finally due to the completion of minor repair of the prototype Wright Explorer bodied Volvo B10TL.

Hereby the photographs taken when the prototype Wright Explorer bodied Volvo B10TL reunite with the one remaining in service. There are some minor improvement for the outlook of the prototype Wright Explorer bodied Volvo B10TL. Let’s find out what the improvements are.

踏入2023年下半年，仍在九巴服役的咸蛋數量已銳減至3部，分別為AVW88 (LZ5771)，AVW89(LZ6455)以及AVW92(LZ8705)。 經確認最後三台咸蛋將於七月中至尾退役的消息後，小編著手安排時間，盼望能讓「咸蛋一號」與他們相聚。

以下為「咸蛋一號」分別與其中兩台咸蛋為AVW88 (LZ5771)，AVW89(LZ6455)相聚的圖片。恰巧拍攝當日是新巴專營權的最後一天，「咸蛋一號」亦有幸能與其中一台披上經典波浪色的新巴同框。

[再見，巴利米納巨人]

北愛爾蘭巴士製造商 Wrightbus 始創人 Sir William Wright 於英國時間 7 月 24 日凌晨離世，享年 94 歲。為此，我們表示深切哀悼。

Sir William Wright 在任期間，Wrightbus 由一間單層巴士車身裝配廠，發展成雙層巴士製造商。Wrightbus於巴士製造業界有著舉足輕重的地位，產品遠銷至亞洲。九巴更於 2003 年引入配上 Wrightbus 車身的 Volvo Super-Olympian。

時至今日，香港已有很多不同的巴士型號使用Wrightbus車身接近二十年。我們更是香港首輛引入的Wrightbus，我們非常感恩Wrightbus令我們香港的巴士車身類型多姿多彩。

我們The First Wrightbus of Hong Kong謹向Sir William Wright的家人致深切慰問，祈願Sir William Wright安息。我們感謝並銘記他為巴士製造業的貢獻，巴士迷永誌不忘。

[The giant character in Ballymena]

Sir William Wright, founder of The Northern Irish bus manufacturer Wrightbus, has died at the age of 94. We express our deep condolences.

During Sir William Wright's tenure Wrightbus evolved from a single-decker bus assembly plant into a manufacturer of double-decker buses. Wrightbus is an important player in the bus manufacturing industry, with its products exported to Asia. KMB introduced the Volvo Super-Olympain with Wrightbus Explorer bodywork in 2003.

Wrightbus has been used for nearly two decades in Hong Kong. We are the first Wrightbus to be introduced to Hong Kong. We are very grateful to Wrightbus for enriching diversity of bodyworks for double-deckers in Hong Kong.

We convey our deepest condolences to the Wright family at this time of bereavement. Sir William Wright will always be remembered for his distinguished contributions to the bus manufacturing development

「熱身」

「咸蛋一號」到港後，經2003年3月中於土瓜灣及九龍灣驗車中心進行各項測試，並於3月20日取得首次登記，正式裝上車牌號碼KY2604及獲編配AVW1為車隊編號。

取得首次登記後，「咸蛋一號」經過大半年的熱身，於同年第四季尾正式投入服務並獲派來往尖沙咀碼頭與蘇屋邨的2號線。

以下為「咸蛋一號」於本年3月份，重遊對服務生涯中極其重要的其中兩個地方 - 舊土瓜灣驗車中心及蘇屋邨的照片。

“Warm up”

At Mid-March 2003, the prototype Wright Explorer bodied Volvo B10TL passed the type approval test and tilt test at both To Kwa Wan and Kowloon Bay vehicle examination centre, thus it got completed the first registration at 20 March 2003. License Plate Number and the Fleet Number of the prototype Wright Explorer bodied Volvo B10TL are “KY2604” and “AVW1” respectively.

The prototype Wright Explorer bodied Volvo B10TL finally started its passenger services on Route 2 (Star Ferry - So Uk) at November 2003.

出文的日子，剛剛正是「咸蛋一號」當年正式出牌的日子。因為疫情關係，今年安排左的復修同測試都未能順利進行，希望能盡快回復正常。

在2003年1月19日，汽車船[Asian Trust] 帶著由修咸頓港登船的「咸蛋一號」正式登陸香江，準備為香港低地台巴士服務帶來另一番景象。
