I WOULD RATHER TAKE LONGER TO FIND THE EXACT FAULT THAN IMPRESS A CLIENT WITH A FAST WRONG ANSWER. 🔧

In this trade, replacing parts is the easy part.

Almost anyone can replace a sensor, injector, turbo, gearbox or even an engine once somebody tells them which part is faulty.

The real work is answering one question:

WHICH PART — and what evidence proves it?

To me, fault finding is 95% problem-solving: understanding the complaint, testing the system, eliminating possibilities and following the evidence until the actual culprit is identified.

Sometimes that takes time.

I'd rather tell a client, “We are still diagnosing it,” than confidently recommend an expensive part just to look clever.

And if after proper testing we genuinely cannot find the fault?

We say so. Simple.

There is no shame in saying “We couldn't find it.”

The real problem is making the customer pay for your guesses.

🔧 A good mechanic doesn't need to know everything immediately. He needs to know how to prove what is wrong before spending the client's money.

Customer brings a car with an engine problem. We repair it and the car is running perfectly.

Customer comes back the other day:
“Queen Faith, since you fixed my car, I can hear a strange noise.” 😭
We ask: “Did the noise start immediately after the repair?”
Customer: “No… I noticed it three days later.” 😂

Mechanics, should the garage be responsible for every new problem that appears after a repair🥺🥺
