WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE LIGHTS GO OFF?”

One of the biggest concerns Ghanaians have about electric vehicles is power outages.

But when I interviewed this BYD owner, he shared a different perspective.

He explained that when an EV is parked, it generally uses very little energy compared to a petrol car left running while stationary. A petrol car can continue consuming fuel when its engine is running, even when it’s not moving.

But let’s be clear: an EV still needs electricity to charge, and a power outage can be a challenge if you need to charge your car during that time.

PEOPLE BASHED HIM, SO I WENT BACK TO GET THE FULL STORY!

When Mr. Cornelius Williams, a BYD EV owner, spoke about how much he used to spend on fuel for his Hyundai Elantra, many people came to the comment section to challenge his statement.

Some agreed, while others disagreed with him. But instead of allowing the debate to continue without clarity, I went back to meet him so he could explain himself better.

In this video, Mr. Cornelius shares more details to help clear the air and give everyone a better understanding of what he meant.

Remember, the goal is not to defend anyone blindly, but to understand the facts and learn from real experiences.
