M4 Comp SKIDS!

Joe from Oswestry called us in this morning after picking this up last Tuesday.

On Thursday he took this to a tuner around the area for a stage 2. It would throw random/multiple misfire codes and cut boost simultaneously.

Why?

1. It's not even stage 2 ready. So that was stupid to mislead the customer into thinking it was ok. ITS NOT OK

2. Upon further investigation of the file (we had to bench read the ECU for this) we found that multiple areas of the file were untouched. This means the engine control module was fighting against itself every time the drive requested a little more.

3. The file was a cheap Internet flash tune. God knows where from but god help whoever else is driving around (or Trying) with it flashed.

So Tuneco:
- Flashed the original file sourced from Autotuners database (We use genuine tools so benefit from this advantage)
- Data logged and Dyno'd it to see where we stood. Luckily nothing was showing signs of damage 😌
- Loaded a Stage 1 base map and again went from a spin to Data record the cars response.
- Dialed In a few more changes, made the burbles a little more snapier and went from a gut wrenching spin in the passenger seat.

Moral of the story?

STAY THE F*** AWAY FROM SOMEONE THAT:

- Doesn't have a workshop (like us)
- Doesnt have genuine tools
- Charges peanuts (if it's too good to be true it usually is)
- Flashes and Dashes (did he really just tune your car properly in under an hour?
- wont provide a certificate upon completion.

Which rolled out of the factory doors in Germany with 204 BHP back in 2016.

For some this is enough, but not for our customer over in . He knew it could kick the roads harder and thats why he called us. We were the right people to plug in and get the job done.

With every service we provide, we deliver with honesty. It takes us longer to complete the full works. Yes we would love to hammer out 10 cars a day and profit from it. After all we are a company. However mistakes happen, and by taking our time, starting from scratch on each vehicle we Remap, means that we reduce the prospects of faults, and we increase your satisfaction along with your vehicles performance and solutions.

Below is an Ecu cloned for a trade customer, this is useful if an ecu is faulty but still alive.

We can make an exact carbon copy of it and transfer it onto a second hand one, saving you hundreds.

Some of our work doesn't include 'just deleting it' like some other tuning company's would do with this scenario.

Peugeot 2008 2015 1.6 HDi 124,000

- Dpf Blocked
- Additive fluid pouch empty
- Multiple Failed regents
- Fap Injector and control module Failure
- Limp Mode
- Service warning, Fap Defect, DPF Fault
- Engine coolant temp exceeding the limits

What we did?
- Replaced the fluid and reset the counters
- Examined the injector of fluid to the DPF and cleaned
- Manually added a particulate filter fluid to the DPF through top and let that soak for 15 minutes prior to a forced regen activity being carried out
- Engine Flushed, Oil & Filter Replaced (important after going through intensive forced regeneration, again not done by many garages)

Why did we do it?
- Saves the customer in the future (guaranteed for up to 50,000 miles)
- Live data suggested that health of vehicle at this age was OK to perform all above to
- Abiding by emissions regulations law completey

We are nearing the end of 2023 and heading towards the start of 2024

Time has flown by, especially the last 3 months.

We've met so many, each with different story's to tell about their cars.

We feel humbled by your support as our business expands, we want to provide more and are forever eternally grateful for your trust in utilising our services.

The difficulty within the industry is that it's all to easy to hop onto Canva and create a logo, grab a tool and get cheap files and make some cash. But it takes time, money, effort and knowledge to be as successful as we are and last within the market. That's how we differ from your average Joe's tuning co.

You'll know who to go to, who's trustworthy enough to put your car in the hands of. There's been countless cars come to us 'already tuned' and let me just say, if we were to flash someone's ECU with the level of poor quality firmware that we come across, we would be disgusted in ourselves!

Tuning isnt just loading a file, it's not just about changing some figures or turning it up to the max. We find it's an art and we will forever more persist on delivering quality for as long as we are established.

Stop the idiots with their clone tools killing our market. Make a report to the relevant authorities if you see them advertising their cowboy services.

We prefer this option over being static on a dyno as it allows the vehicle to show us how it’s truly going to perform out on the bare road, against inclines, bumps, corners etc..

Changing to different-size injectors will need a remap / tune.

You will need a remap if you change your injectors to ones with a different flow. Different flow means a different tune. Most aftermarket engine management does have an autotune function. Use this function to test the car after the hardware change before the tuner visit.

👉Too much fuel will clean cylinder walls from oil, leading to excess wear
👉Too much fuel will dilute the oil, leading to poor lubrication and, worst case, engine failure.
👉To much fuel will lead to high CO exhaust values
