A Black day, is always a good day. ๐๐ดโโ ๏ธ
2006 , Blackwater / GRS - heading to the Kabul ๐ฆ๐ซ country club to play a little 5.56 golf๐๐ โฆ. We had to SDR up to Qargha lake and scope the joint, so the coโs had a place to โdevelopโ assetsโฆ.. It couldnโt have been a more beautiful 70 degree spring day, the pollution was always light in the spring too so I could breath easy, while hacking up all the lung cheese I that had collected throughout the winterโฆand after spending the winter freezing and trying to run ops in the blackish snow thatโs filled with mud, trash, sewage and all the unknown bodily fluids mixed together in a kinda Kabul stew, I loved when spring hit the streetsโฆand the Taliban loved spring too as โworkโ picked up ๐. Those that worked Kabul more than a month, feel me, and understand how we could go get a great coffee, chicken kabob, and french pastry, while at the same time getting caught in an ambush. Itโs what made Kabul a wonderfully exciting, dangerous, semi permissive place to work. I always was excited to get back to A-stanโฆ solid operators like Griz and Chief who had that demented sense of humor similar to mine. Itโs been almost 20 years since those daysโฆand I can still smell the smells, feel the sun on my face, and my contentment with life ๐๐บ๐ธ๐ค๐ผ. Those days were good, even when they were bad. ๐๐ผ๐ค๐ผ๐โฆ. โฆWe can always find silver liningsโฆ.if you look hard enough & patient . Itโs the experiences that bring smiles to our faces as we transition from young fire breathers to old menโฆthatโs the beauty of living a fulfilled life ๐บ๐ธ๐๐ค๐ผ
