STOLEN!!!!
We had our Brian James Clubman twin axle trailer STOLEN from the Rawdon area of Leeds, on Friday between 10am and 5pm. At the time it was taken it had number plate: YB57YFA. It didn't have any ramps with it. The winch position had been moved slightly and cable rollers moved dead center. We will put some photos up later. Please share, share, share!

Another great weekend at Shakespeare County Raceway. Kenny Murry finally completed his observed runs eventually ending up with a best run of 11.104 and I got a few runs in on Sunday with a 9.16 equalling our pb set last time we were out. The Outlaw Anglia 25th anniversary party on Saturday was fantastic with my Jake DJing on our Funktion One sound system until 1.30am with people dancing until the end. Just another reminder of what a fantastic lot the whole Outlaw Anglia family is and what a great bunch of people to race with. Thanks to everyone else who helped with the party and especially Colin and Lyn from the Flyin Fyfers for organising it.
We'll be back at Santa Pod for Bug Jam in July.

Back from Big bang again this year and what a great weekend it was. The weather was great and as usual, Outlaw Anglia was a great class to be racing with. We had some very shakey runs all weekend, so rear end alignment need looking at, but Sunday saw consistent times of 9.2s. We were knocked out by Shorty's Hot Rod in the first eliminations, but managed to squeeze another run in between the semis and the final, where we managed a 9.16 second pass, which is a new PB for Born to Run. After a rear end rebuild following its previous demise at Bug Jam last year and with shorter gears, the tyres now need changing back to our previous 33inch rears as we are sat on the limiter from about half track, meaning that those eight second passes aren't too far away.
We will have to miss the next race at Shakespeare County, but will be back there for the Outlaw Anglia 25th anniversary party in June with our sponsor Audioserv Ltd providing a Funktion One sound system for the evening's entertainment.

After a severely broken axle and propshaft at Bug Jam, we are on the way to Shakespeare County raceway with a car ready to go. I've fitted a new Strange pro iron case, 35 spline half shafts, a new propshaft, a spool and a freshly braced axle with new wheelie bar brackets, and we've shifted from 3.89 to 4.11 rear end ratio, so I'm hoping for 8's this weekend. We just need some good weather now.

So, as is so often the case in this past time that we call drag racing, stuff broke. You start somewhere and then break something. Then you fix it but this time it's stronger. Then you get back out and make more power and break something else and so it goes on. So for this round of Bug Jam breakages I broke the third member clean out of the back axle having travelled a total distance of roughly one foot. Still, on the bright side, we didn't have a spool and we will have. We didn't have the right ratio in the rear end either and we will be somewhere close when it is fixed. Also, we were running 28 spline half shafts which clearly won't take what we are throwing at it. So although it's going to be costly, I am grateful it didn't happen near the end of a run at speed and it has given me the impotus to get the car closer to what it should be able to achieve. We'll be back out as soon as I can get it together. Shame we all have to go to work in the mean time.

Big Bang 2016 was a fantastic weekend for Born to Run both on and off the track. We have made some changes to the car over the winter including a transmission rebuild with a new torque converter, built to spec for our car. and a fogger nitrous set-up with it's own dedicated fuel system and some failsafes built in to prevent lean outs. Last year's best time on the quarter mile was 9.78. Over the course of the weekend we brought it down to 9.2566 @ 144.34 seconds with a 60ft time of 1.316. Racing with the some of the best of Outlaw Anglia was tough and saw us knocked out in the first elimination on the Sunday, so even with over half a second gained, we need to look for quicker and more consistent times. Roll on Shakespeare County for the bank holiday weekend.
