Altitude Driver Training

Altitude Driver Training Hi I'm Carl
I've been teaching learners and post-test drivers for over 24 years.

I cover all aspects of driver training, from 17th birthday surprises through to motorway and fuel efficiency driving for those with more experience who'd like to improve.

Yaaay! Here’s my son Orion after aceing his driving test at the first attempt in sunny Redhill today.
It’s been a bit of a journey, but it was well deserved, and I’m a proud daddy!
Well done Orion, just what was needed before you head off to university in a few weeks! 👏👏

Here’s Jack, who beat his nerves to come back with a resounding pass at the sultry Redhill DTC today.
Just one driving fault mark, and examiner Ian said he needs to have more confidence in himself after such a good drive.
Well done Jack, and I’m sure Bruce the Rottweiler will enjoy many trips to doggie day care with you! 👏👏👏

Here’s Sophie, another one of my neighbours, with a well deserved pass in sunny Redhill this afternoon.
All the hard work paid off Sophie!
Well done, and safe driving! 🫡

Three tests this week, and three passes.
First, there was Luke with 6 driving faults at Redhill test centre. I forgot to take his photo, hence Luke posing with his own car.
Then came Henry in Sevenoaks with just four. As Luke’s neighbour, he was pleased to have won the fault marks count.
And then Oliver with just two driving faults at Redhill.
Not enough driving faults to fail a test between them, well done to all three!
Safe driving to all of you!

Like mother, like daughter. Here’s Holly after aceing her second test with just 2 driver faults in a rather damp Sevenoaks on Monday.
Mum Lucy passed back in September.
Happy motoring Holly!

Here’s Jay after passing his test this morning with just 5 driving fault marks in an overcast Redhill.

2 tests with students from Reigate College this week, with not enough fault marks to fail a test between them.
First Harry, with just one fault on Monday after having his original appointment postponed by DVSA.
And then on Friday, Leah passed with just four driving fault marks.
Both at a rather grey Redhill DTC.
Safe driving to both of them! 👍👍

A combined proud dad and proud instructor moment.
My daughter Sky passed her driving test in drizzly Redhill today, with just 4 driving faults on her first attempt.
And my son Orion passed his driving theory test this morning in Horley with marks of 48/50 on the questions and 65/75 on hazard perception, on his first attempt.
No rest for the wicked, I suppose we’d better get Orion booked for a practical test now, and go car shopping with Sky!

We witnessed an unfortunate thing on a lesson earlier today.
While negotiating a roundabout in heavy traffic, we became aware that a fire engine was approaching the roundabout. We took a moment to assess the likely path of the fire engine, and held back to allow them through.
But the driver of an articulated lorry completely misread the situation, and moved onto the roundabout, stopping at a time that meant that his trailer was totally blocking the exit that the fire engine needed.
Hats off to my learner for staying calm, but I recommended that he check out the ‘Blue Light Aware’ videos that are linked on the resources page of my website.
There’s just no better explanation of what to do in such situations.

If you haven’t done so before, check it out. 😉

Explaining the needs of UK emergency services when on a blue light journey and how you can help.

Actually, I’ve got a couple of buckets. Should I be worried? 🤣
