Not long now! The advance ticket-only Leyland Society's 2026 Gathering is on Sunday 28 June, run by the FBHVC member club,

The 'Gathering' is being held at the Leyland Trucks Assembly Plant on Croston Road, Leyland as a part of a Family Day organised by Leyland Trucks for their employees and invited guests.

There will be different activities taking place around the outside of the factory whilst the Assembly Plant will be open to show how trucks are produced at the Leyland site.

A broad range of Leyland group trucks and buses from across the decades are expected to attend and provide an impressive display.

Please be aware that the Leyland Trucks Assembly Plant is a secure area and entry will be by advance ticket only - see Leyland Society website for details, but don't delay as the closing date for ticket applications is 12 June.

It is hoped that a local enthusiast group will run free bus services from the Leyland Trucks Assembly Plant and the British Commercial Vehicle Museum in the town centre using Leyland buses.

See website for further details https://www.leylandsociety.co.uk/leyland-society-gathering/

Congratulations to the Cambridge Austin 7 & Vintage Car Club which is celebrating its 70th anniversary!

The celebrations included a gathering of Austin 7’ and Vintage Cars on Rampton Village Green, a Ceilidh in the Village Hall and a magnificent birthday cake. The birthday cake measured 32cm by 50cm with enough for everyone with some left over.

The club was formed in 1956 by a group of university students. It was not long before the students sought the help of a local garage owner and made him an honorary member.

Other local enthusiasts joined and eventually the club separated from the university.

Today, it is a thriving club of over 70 members holding regular meetings and events. https://www.facebook.com/groups/388517951267195/about
