LPW has been working with commercial vehicles since 1972, when the business started out cleaning chassis and engines for local operators around London’s dock areas. 🚛

More than 50 years later, truck washing is still a core part of what we do, but the business has grown significantly around the needs of the transport industry.

Today, LPW Europe supports fleets through dedicated Truckwash sites positioned close to major transport routes, on-site fleet washing at depots, specialist food-grade Tankwash facilities and the supply of vehicle cleaning products and equipment.

The services may look very different to those early days, but the thinking behind them is much the same. They are designed around how fleets actually operate, helping drivers and operators keep vehicles clean without adding unnecessary disruption to the working day.

Across our Truckwash network, we now operate four dedicated locations positioned close to major routes including the M5, M62, A1(M), A13 and M25. Most washes take around 10–15 minutes and no appointment is required.

A brighter sight on a grey day at LPW Truckwash Purfleet. 🚛✨

This tanker is looking much cleaner after making its way through our Purfleet wash, ready to head back out on the road. Purfleet is one of our busiest Truckwash locations, with two dedicated wash bays helping the team manage a steady flow of vehicles throughout the day.

Our team cleans everything from tractor units and trailers to tankers, vans and other specialist vehicles, using professional pressure-washing equipment, with key areas hand finished where needed.

For tanker operators, there’s also the added benefit of having LPW Tankwash right alongside the Truckwash. That means exterior washing and certified internal food-grade tank cleaning can be arranged at the same location, helping reduce the need for separate stops.

Most exterior washes take around 10–15 minutes and there’s no need to book, so drivers can simply call in when it works for their route.

Autumn is starting to creep in, but it’s business as usual at LPW Truckwash Castleford. 🍂

This WS Transportation Scania and tanker recently stopped by our wash at Whitwood Truck Stop for an exterior clean. Our team worked around the full vehicle, including hand finishing areas such as the cab and wheels, before getting it cleaned up and ready to head back out on the road.

As we move further into autumn, wetter roads mean more spray, mud and road grime being picked up along the way. Keeping on top of exterior cleaning becomes even more important for HGVs spending their week out on the road.

A quick behind-the-scenes look at a recent exterior wash at LPW Truckwash. 🚛💦

HGVs pick up plenty of road film, mud and grime through everyday driving, particularly around the wheels, chassis, lower panels and other areas exposed to road spray.

Our team works around the full vehicle using professional pressure-washing equipment to tackle that build-up. Once the main wash is complete, key areas are checked and hand finished where needed to make sure anything missed during the pressure wash gets some extra attention.

The whole process takes a little longer than this video makes it look! Most washes are completed in around 10–15 minutes, helping drivers get a proper exterior clean without adding too much time to their journey.

Another Abbey Logistics Group tanker through LPW Tankwash for an internal clean. 💧

Our Purfleet team recently carried out food-grade tank cleaning for Abbey Logistics, one of the operators we regularly welcome through the site.

Based near the A13 and M25, the facility is set up to support tanker operators travelling through Essex, Greater London and the wider South East, with a range of services available including internal tank cleaning, steam sanitisation, hose and flex cleaning, filtered drying and electronic wash certification.

Purfleet is also EFTCO-approved, with trained operatives and dedicated tank cleaning equipment on site. The Tankwash is open seven days a week, including until 8pm Monday to Friday, giving operators more flexibility around their working schedules.

And with two LPW Truckwash bays right alongside the Tankwash, drivers can arrange an exterior vehicle wash during the same visit if needed.

A behind the scenes look at our LPW Tankwash in Avonmouth. 👀

There’s a lot that goes into preparing a food-grade tanker for its next load, and these photos show what happens in our Avonmouth wash bay.

Each clean is based on the previous load and the tanker’s cleaning requirements. Our team uses high-pressure hot water to remove product residue, followed by steam cleaning and sanitisation. The tank is then dried using filtered air, with an electronic wash certificate issued once the clean is complete.

The site can also handle hose and flex cleaning, IBC cleaning and rinsing, as well as internal and external tank cleaning, giving operators access to a range of services in one place.

Based at Avon Lodge Truckstop near M5 Junction 18 and Avonmouth Docks, our Tankwash is well placed for operators travelling through Bristol and the wider South West. LPW Truckwash is right next door too, so an exterior vehicle wash can be arranged during the same visit.
