For everyone involved in building LEAF here in Sunderland, this recognition means so much. It reflects the dedication, precision and teamwork that goes into every vehicle we produce, day in, day out.

Seven Nissan colleagues have been recognised in the Top 100 Most Influential Women at the 2026 Autocar Great Women Awards – with three taking top honours in their categories 🏆

We’re thrilled to announce that Nissan Sunderland Plant is now officially manufacturing the all-new, all-electric, third-generation Nissan LEAF! ⚡

For over a decade, we’ve been leading the way in EV production right here in the North-East of England. With more than 250,000 Nissan LEAFs already on the road, we know what it takes to deliver a car our customers love.

The all-new LEAF is more than just a car. It’s the first step in our EV36ZERO vision for sustainable mobility - bringing together EV manufacturing, renewable energy, and gigafactories to create a cleaner, greener future. 🌍

But none of this would be possible without the dedication, creativity, and collaboration of our team at Nissan Sunderland Plant.

Last week, one of our teams at Nissan Sunderland came together for a special volunteering activity with local child bereavement charity, 4Louis. The charity joined us at the plant and set up a production line where employees packed more than 240 memory boxes that will provide comfort and support to families during the most difficult times.

We’re proud to support 4Louis every month with volunteering support, as part of our ongoing commitment to helping hundreds of charities in our local community - all employees at Nissan Sunderland can spend 2 days a year volunteering.

Well done to everyone who took part in making a real difference and thank you, 4Louis, for the incredible work you do. 💙
