2005 bmw 3 series cas modules cloned for a customer who had self diagnosed the car, I agreed to as the lad swore it was this! I said ring to let me know how it goes, next day sure enough "still the same this is" i did think it would be but hey, he did the diag work not me, many things can cause terminal 15 faults on these bmw e chassis cars including broken wires under the car, bad connections behind the fusebox (recall) and another more common is the module by the fusebox being only half plugged in.

Sometimes its better to let us do the diag work, it could save you money in the end!

Fuel gauge and ambient temp sensors inoperable on this one (both share a feed from cluster) you'd think it was simple!?

Not really, we already knew there was some wire bodging going on under the passengers seat from tank to cluster so decided that was the first point to test at, meter in hand and nothing in resistance from sender unit though it had not long had one dropped in by the boys at clay city autos, dropped the tank to find a terminal to sender with no connection, small repair there and away, not really! Still no gauge reading, we had about 4.9v from cluster to the plug, little bit low that is so with the cluster out and a wire direct to sender, still no go, with a struggle to find a cluster the owner finally found one and got it to us, now need to start programming it in by reading skc from donor, skc from van and then re add both keys. Finally we have a working fuel gauge and ambient temp reading.

Too many things in this job lately making you double check, however, I personally think the wiring under the seat had been probed blowing the circuit in the cluster.

On car mechatronics testing can be quite daunting and looks complicated!

This is the dq200 again, suffering no crank, no start and intermittent communication faults with transmission module.

This was a slightly confusing one as the garage who have tasked us with the job had already purchased a replacement, plugged that in to still find no comms with trans control.

This is where we lift off with wiring tests to find that can low wasn't quite as expected at the plug, so armed with that knowledge its time to look for a break or chaff in the loom, loom repaired and away, so we thought! It's was at this point we find the car will start and run for a while and be fine, then when it got up to normal temp, comms loss again!

Spare unit in hand is quickly plugged in and comms return, time to do a data transfer, this means removal of old unit, hooking up on the bench to read and write and reinstalling the new unit on car.

All in all, a confusing job with some amount of messing around but its done and ready.

2015 vauxhall combo sent in for a no start and intermittent communication fault with engine control.

This van had been to have a clutch fitted somewhere then wouldnt start, it ended up with us and after about 2 hours of testing various feeds, sensors and powers, grounds and can bus wiring we find this.

Again, to keep costs down we're able to use a second hand ecu restored to virgin/new and installed back on the van, she's now a runner again and ready to go.

Ecu in question is magneti marelli mjd8f3, immo off, restore to factory new.

Seat leon 1600tdi dsg!!

Another job sent over from another garage here, originally thought to be a dead mechatronics unit the garage ordered replacement, plugged in to find still no comms with tcm, wiring scoped and we can see a small issue with can high in to tcm, with an overlay wire in place the car started and ran on its own tcm, then soon as heat sunk in we lost comms again, not to worry, we keep one spare for this very purpose and yes, we have comms with it so all in, 2 faults in the same area here. New mech unit over with us for cloning and we should have this up and running very shortly.

All mechatronic or other tcm cloning, give us a call and check our price.

2020 fiat ducato 2.3, mj9df ecu!!

Reset to virgin and ready to code or immo off, choice is yours.

This came to us a brand new module and needed boot loading, its took some time to find the right software for this job but in the end it all went well, the van originally presented with a dead ecu just on the passenger seat, with nothing to go from we were a bit stumped but just as hope started to fade another company abroad managed to find us a solution in the form of a full original back up file, with that wrote and ecu installed we had a running van, then another mountain appeared, a defective clutch switch meant we couldn't get the ecu light out, after hours of trying and manipulation around the clutch switch, that ecu light went out and left us with a fully functional van. Back to owner for the van and back home for me! Been a busy few weeks and all I keep saying is, I'll get this job done and have some holiday time......then another nightmare job appears 🙄

2010 vw polo 1.2 ggpa.

This was a referral from another garage, apparently doing a plug and coil change made it go in to "safe" mode and set the dtc p1570
Engine starts blocked by immobiliser.

At first I thought "quick one, immo off and gone" just my luck it didn't work, so immo back on it was! By now ive got no "safe" on dash but crank and no start, live data shows no reading from crank sensor/engine speed sensor, scoped that to find a good signal back ar ecu plug, not convinced my signal is entering the ecu via pins n plug i test direct on pcb, still good signal.

Little bit more digging and find we've only got 4.5v at some engine control fuses, little bit more digging and find we've got a wire compromised on terminal 30 side of the relay, fix wire, car starts and runs.

All in all, another load of unexplainable nonesense but I guess it is a vw! We had no codes for any lack of terminal 30 voltage anywhere on the car either.

She's fixed, im going home 😁

2014 bmw f10 giving us the run around with a wiring fault.

This vehicle presented us with a really strange electrical issue where it would momentarily lose everything on PTCan, mainly in reverse but did have its moments where nothing at all worked and it wouldnt drive.

After talking with the owner we took note of a recent remap with slight hardware modifications to go with, with that in mind our first task is to revert the engine controller back to shop standard to let us see if any codes were removed or anything other gave us a sniff of where the issue was, it very quickly led us to the problem and it wasn't the software but the work surrounding hardware upgrades.

All fixed, back out and away on the second day.
