The penultimate round of the Forest Edge Superkart championship took place on Sunday with changeable conditions providing the closed finish possible in the final, by the 2 leading championship contenders. As the lights went out in the final it was Spencer Chappell who hit the front with Aaron Powell taking 2nd, Ross Cornick 3rd with Graham Payne and Harry Morris making up the top 5. Lap 2 and it was all change with Mark Smith charging through the field into 4th while behind the drivers slid their way around an ever increasing wet and tricky track with Calum Smith, Dan Buckland and Joel Hersey making steady progress. With the leading pair bumper to bumper for 11 breath taking laps Aaron Powell out dragged Spencer Chappell from the last corner to cross the finishing line with only 0.05s between them, in one of the closest possible finishes. 3rd went to Ross Cornick, 4th was Mark Smith, 5th Graham Payne, 6th Dan Buckland and 7th was Joel Hersey in his fist race back after an extended absence from the sport. Wow what a fantastic race and what a great display of fast, close, and clean professional racing from the Superkart drivers. The top 7 places were.

- Fastest lap in the wet final went to Spencer Chappell with a 44.84 lap time.
- Fastest lap in the changeable conditions went to Spencer Chappell in heat 1 with a 37.32 lap time.
- Driver of the Day was Mark Smith who came 4th in the final after a challenging start to the day with engine problems.
- We welcomed back Joel Hersey after a break to his racing and who had a very enjoyable day being back in the seat and racing.

Entries will be open soon for the final race in the season and the final big event of the year, the 2024 Forest Edge Superkart Winter Cup, on Sunday 3rd November. The prize money will go down to 8th place and is sponsored by Electric Scooter UK, your one-stop destination for Electric Scooters, owned by the Buckland family, with Dan and Reece both loyal supporters of Forest Edge. The event will have prize money from 1st to 8th where the prize money currently stands at 1st £140, 2nd £90, 3rd £50, 4th £30, 5th £20, 6th £15, 7th £10, 8th £5 together with great club trophies, special event caps for the top 3 and the Driver of the day mug. Some great news, we have a major new sponsor for the Forest Edge Superkart Winter Cup, where this final new event of the 2024 season will take place on Sunday 3rd November 2024. The 2024 MSUK British Superkart E Plate championship took place on Sunday at Forest Edge Kart club on a very warm summers day. As the lights went out in the final it was Jack Bliss who hit the front with Spencer Chappell taking 2nd, Matt Allnut 3rd and Dom Brown slipping down to 4th. Behind, Ross Cornick moved into 5th with Chris Morris making up 4 places in the open lap to slot into 6th. Lap 2 and it was all change at the front as Matt Allnut passed Spencer Chappell for 2nd and set about chasing after Jack Bliss while behind Mark Smith 6th overtook Callum Smith 7th which started a race long titanic battle between the father and son team. Lap 9 and Chris Morris passed Ross Cornick only to be repassed 2 laps later with Mark Smith and Callum Smith trading places on lap 9, 11 and 12 in a captivating battle. At the front the leading pair were bumper to bumper, lap after lap in a mesmerising duel where on lap 12 Matt Allnut finally took the lead from Jack Bliss, crossing the finishing line with only 0.14s between the pair and winning the 2024 MSUK British E Plate championship. At the finish Spencer Chappell was 3rd, Dom Brown 4th followed by the battling pair of Ross Cornick 5th, only 0.3s in front of Chris Morris 6th. The father and son battle saw Callum Smith 7th beat his dad Mark Smith 8th by only 0.3s with Frazer Everett just behind in 9th and a fast-recovering Dan Hammett closing out the top 10. Wow what a fantastic race and what a great display of fast, close and clean professional racing from the Superkart drivers. The top 10 places were.

- The lap time spread in the Vega XH4 was amazing. The fastest lap times were; Heat 1: 37.58s, Heat 2: 37.46s, Heat 3: 37.69s, and the final 37.73s a total spread of only 0.27s over 47 hard racing laps.
- Driver of the Day was Dom Brown who came 4th in the final and won Heat 1 and Chris Morris, who had a great drive in the final after a long absence from racing at the circuit.
- We also caught up with Ross Cornick and presented him with his winning trophy from the July meeting and Frazer Everett who was the driver of the day at the last meeting, the Vega Cup in July.

With only 2 weeks to go to the 2024 MSUK British Superkart E Plate championship at Forest Edge Kart Club on Sunday 1st September, it’s time to get those entries in as they close in just 12 days’ time, at mid night on Wednesday 28th August. This one-day, winner takes all race, will attract many of the top drivers in the country and will attract another sizeable Superkart grid, as we see monthly at Forest Edge Kart club.

We have regular major prizes at most of our monthly events and up for grabs at this meeting will be the special E Plate, the E Plate perpetual trophy, great club trophies, special event caps for the top 3 including Moet and Chandon Champagne, and the Driver of the day mug.

For this special meeting we have created our special promotional slide showing our new lap record holder and multiple club champion Spencer Chappell. So lets get those entries in boys and look forward to another special and unmissable event in the short circuit Superkart calendar.

Round 6 of the 2024 Forest Edge Superkart Championships took place on Sunday and incorporated the new 2024 Vega Cup with a huge prize fund of £500 worth of tyre vouchers. In the final Aaron Powell took the lead followed by Mark Smith with Frazer Everett up to 3rd after a great opening lap. Lap 3 and Calum Smith took 3rd but after an unforced error at the last corner, it promoted Dan Hammett climbing his way through the field after a slow start. A fast-charging Matt Duncan and Martin Smith were closing on the leaders with Martin overtaking Matt on lap 8. As the flag dropped on another eventful final Aaron Powell took a dominant win with Mark Smith 2nd and Dan Hammett 3rd only 0.5s behind. Martin Smith and Matt Duncan came in 5th and 6th respectively with Frazer Everett and Graham Payne 6th and 7th. A recovering Calum Smith finished 8th 0.2s behind 7th place, and our first novice home, Frank Bourn was 9th and Dan Buckland 10th. The top 10 places were.

Forest Edge Superkarts have just secured some new sponsorship for the race this weekend which will mean they will be providing 5 x £50 off vouchers for new Vega tyres in addition to the 5 x £50 vouchers from Vega Tyres UK, totalling 10 x £50 vouchers in the draw for this weekend.

It sets up those 10 drivers with deeply discounted tyres for the following meeting on the 1st September, the 2024 MSUK British Superkart E Plate championships.

Entries are open and the grid is filling up fast for round 6 of the 2024 Forest Edge Superkart Championships on Sunday 4th August. This is another great special event as we will be running the new 2024 Vega Cup. The winner will be taking home the new special perpetual trophy on top of the usual club trophies, there will be special event caps for the top 3 and the Driver of the day mug.

Vega tyres UK, who have been a long-term supporter of Forest Edge Superkarts, have again provided some great prizes and which will be raffled out to those drivers who enter the meeting. Round 5 of the 2024 Forest Edge Superkart Championships took place on Sunday with a great grid of 10 drivers, and some close, fast, and competitive racing. In the final Dan Hammett and Ross Cornick made up the front row with Spencer Chappell and Reece Buckland making up row 2. As the lights went out it was Spencer Chappell who hit the front by lap 1 with Ross Cornick and Dan Hammett close behind. Lap 4 and it was all change with Spencer Chappell retiring with mechanical issues, promoting Ross Cornick and Dan Hammett to 1st and 2nd. For 8 breath-taking laps the leaders battled in a bumper to bumper highly competitive race, where when the flag dropped, there was on 0.14 second separating them. Equally close behind was the battle for 3rd and 4th between father and son Superkart racers Mark Smith and Calum Smith, where Mark just held on to claim 3rd by only 0.2 second. 5th was our first novice home, Frank Bourn and 6th our 2nd novice Ian O’Rourke who both had a solid race. The top 6 places were.

Round 4 and the 2024 Forest Edge Superkart Southern Championships took place on Sunday with a great grid of 12 drivers, and some close, fast, and competitive racing. In the final Spencer Chappell and Ross Cornick made up the front row with Harry Morris and Reece Buckland making up row 2. As the lights went out Spencer Chappell hit the front with Ross Cornick close behind. At the first corner Matt Duncan and Reece Buckland tangled promoting Mark and Calum Smith into 3rd and 4th with Harry Morris succumbing to mechanical problems all within the first lap. Behind Dan Buckland, Frazer Everett and Graham Payne battled for 13 laps with Frazer Everett and Graham Payne passing Dan Buckland eventually to come home 5th, 6th and 7th respectively with a fast-charging Reece Buckland coming in 8th. The top 8 places were.

- Fastest lap in the final went to Spencer Chappell with a 38.24 lap time with Reece Buckland clocking the fastest sector 1 of a 12.62.
- Fastest lap of the day went to Spencer Chappell in heat 1 with another fast lap time of 37.40.
- Driver of the Day was our new 16-year-old driver Harry Morris, who finish 2nd in heat 2 and posted some solid results throughout the day. Unfortunately, mechanical gremlins curtailed his final.
- Our novice winner was Ian O’Rourke, who continued to make great progress and finished 9th in the final.
- Besides the 50-year age gap between Harry Morris and Ian O’Rourke, it proves you can still race in club racing at Forest Edge Superkarts and have a great fun day.
- We also had 2 father and son families on the grid with Mark and Calum Smith and Dan and his son Reece, who was racing in Superkarts for the first time. On this occasion both the dads beat the sons in the final which I’m sure might not last too long.

Its race weekend at Forest Edge Superkarts with 11 drivers so far for the 2024 Forest Edge Superkart Southern Championships on Saturday 2nd June where the coveted SC plate will be won. At the race will be some of the top drivers in the country as well as 2 new drivers, 16-year-old Harry Morris and Reece Buckland who along with Ian O’Rourke and Frank Bourn makes it 4 new drivers so far this year. The drivers on the grid for the race on Sunday are;

All this adds up to making racing at Forest Edge a special experience. As usual for our special events in 2024 the races will be longer, 6 min heats and an 8 min final. The race will be on Alpha timing who provide live race data and results.
