Job opening for a HGV Mechanic to work from our premises in Coleshill, West Midlands

Working environment-

Roller brake tester
Pits (2nd one just going in)
Column lifts
Full Scania diagnostics plus Jaltest
Using R2C digital online for inspections

Car licence required at minimum. HGV licence would be handy but not essential, we would put the right candidate through their HGV licence.

Working on mostly Scania/Volvo/Renault Euro 6 Heavy construction vehicles, Tippers, Mixers, Low Loaders etc -but with a mix of everything HGV

Inspections, Mots (including taking them)
Servicing, general repair work.
Occasional breakdowns which we usually take in turns.

We have both aluminium and steel MIGs, so a bit of welding experience would be favourable but not essential

40 hour week

8 hour days

Monday-Friday 8.30-5.30

(With an hour's unpaid lunch break)

Starting pay £20.00 per hour

HOWEVER depending on experience and driving qualifications THIS CAN BE INCREASED (This will be determined after the probationary period)

Saturdays are not required, However the work can be there if needed ...

Start and finish hours could potentially be tweaked to suit the candidate

Plus overtime at 1.5

Standard holiday entitlement plus bank holidays (28 total)

A bit about ourselves:

Family run company where we all get stuck in

We run a separate haulage business from the same site so obviously these trucks have priority maintenance wise

Been in the same site for 20+ years

Specialise in tippers, particularly Scania branded vehicles

We carry out DPF cleaning on site (for all vehicles) using a specialised machine

Using R2C for inspections
Fully equipped sprinter service van

Car licence required at minimum. HGV licence would be handy but not essential, we would put the right candidate through there HGV licence.

Working on mostly Euro 6 Heavy construction vehicles, Tippers, Mixers, Low Loaders etc, but with a mix of everything HGV.

Plus AC TIG welders, so a bit of welding experience would be favourable but not essential.

We have taken delivery this week of our new Jaltest diagnostics equipment, to run along side our genuine Scania and Volvo/Renault diagnostic equipment
