This customer came in for our whilst you wait injector testing after an engine failure. Unsure if the customer should be happy or not with these results, injectors running spot on so whilst that’s all good, this customer needs to go back to the drawing board for their engine failure!

A set of RX8 injectors tested whilst the customer waited initial testing found injector 3 just outside spec injecting too much and injector 4 way outside spec not injecting enough and at high RPM spray pattern became very poor.
After ultrasonic cleaning and back washing the injectors cylinders 1, 2 & 3 where all within spec with good spray patterns but unfortunately injector 4 still way out of spec with a jet let spray. We advised a new injector for this vehicle.

Do you own a direct injection engine? VW Group TFSI’s being one of our most common offenders a although we do offer a chemical carbon clean we know this does not work miracles and sometimes the only option is to strip off the intake manifold and walnut blast the intake valves
