Not the prettiest repair we’ve ever done, but sometimes you’ve just got to work with what you’ve got!

This MIB2 unit had previously had an aftermarket navigation unit fitted inside it by another company. During the install a trace had been ripped from the board along with multiple components being lost/damaged.

We repaired the damaged trace first, then used one of our donor MIB2 boards to transfer over all of the missing components and get everything working again.

Once back together it went onto our bench test rig to make sure everything was working as it should, then straight back to the customer.

Definitely not the tidiest looking PCB repair, but a working unit is much better than a dead one!

This crafter came in with EGR issues but already mapped and was spot on so rather than remove the map already on the vehicle we pulled the ECU to read and add our fix into the map now this customer is back on the road working again

Not all mechatronic repairs are the same.

This DQ500 0BH mechatronic came to us after another repair attempt had gone wrong.

The customer had purchased one of our clutch position sensors, but unlike the later DQ381 and 0DL DQ500 units, the older 0BH isn’t a straightforward sensor replacement. The unit has to be cut open, the protective gel carefully removed, the original sensor desoldered, and the new one fitted with extreme precision.

Unfortunately, during the previous repair, three PCB traces were damaged and the sensor had been fitted with very poor solder joints, leaving the unit unusable.

Under the microscope, we carefully removed more of the protective gel, repaired all three damaged traces with micro soldering, removed the previous repair, and fitted the sensor correctly. The unit was then fully bench tested to confirm everything was working exactly as it should.

Once testing was complete, the repaired areas were protected with conformal coating, the housing was professionally resealed to prevent oil ingress, and the unit underwent one final bench test before being returned to the customer, ready to get the vehicle back on the road.

When it comes to mechatronic repairs, experience and the right equipment make all the difference.

This car booked in for some racingline lowering springs to be fitted to his golf gti performance edition, and what a difference it has made!

The racingline springs are top of the range and give the car that lovely stance and comfort all in one! 😱

Another ttrs! We are seeing a few of these now! 🙂

This one recently had a performance clutch and flywheel fitted by us a few months back along with a cheeky remap.😏

Last week they came back as we discussed installing some powerflex bushes to their engine mount and gearbox mounts.

The customer took our advice and had all 3 installed in house! 🙂

This one booked in for some new lower arms too be installed along with new rts brake discs with ebc yellow stuff pads all round for that extra stopping power!

What a car! 🚗

This Audi rs6 came back into us for some work to be done.

We carried out a new front splitter as it was caught getting on a ferry 🫠

Also whilst doing that the customer decided they wanted to finish the low line kit off with the rear spats 😀

After that was done an interim service was carried out for them. ✅

We love an Octavia!

This one came in with the typical MOT shock absorber advisories, the customer was tired of the genuine shock absorbers from Skoda so opted for some lovely bilsteins!

Also when we carried out a health check we found the lower arm rear bushes to be excessively worn and the customer decided to go for the Powerflex bushes and get them done at the same time.

All work was carried out and we always advise 4 wheel alignment after any suspension work which will be carried out on this vehicle within the next week once suspension has settled.
