Something a little different for us this time! 🔧

We had a chopped-up roof delivered to us, with the job being to carefully remove the panoramic roof assembly and transfer it over to the customer’s vehicle.

Definitely not your everyday job, and certainly one that requires plenty of care and attention to detail! 😅

We’ll be stripping the roof assembly down, removing the pan roof and getting everything transferred over and refitted correctly into the customer’s vehicle.

Another unusual job taken on by the team — we don’t just stick to the usual mechanical work! 💪🔧

📢 PLEASE TAKE A MINUTE TO READ 📢

We just wanted to take a moment to explain things to all of our customers.

We have been extremely busy recently, and we genuinely apologise to anyone who has tried to get booked in with us and feels like they’ve been ignored.

I can assure you, that isn’t the case. We simply have so much going on at the moment that sometimes messages, calls and social media enquiries don’t get answered as quickly as they should. It’s not intentional — we’re just flat out keeping vehicles on the road! 🔧

If you’re able to, please feel free to pop into the workshop and leave your vehicle with us. If you’re unable to do that, pop in and speak to us and we can arrange a date for you there and then.

We always have mechanics here and we will always do our best to get your vehicle needs taken care of.

Our long-term aim is to continue building our team so that eventually we can get to a point where repairs are booked in within a maximum of one week, rather than customers having to wait longer than we would like.

We genuinely appreciate everyone’s patience, support and understanding while we continue to grow.

🛠️ Another Jaguar XF in with us for some repairs.

This one came in for a replacement rear crash bar. We managed to source a good second-hand replacement part and got it fitted.

The crash bar also supports the exhaust hanger, so once the original had failed, the exhaust had dropped out of position. With the replacement fitted, we were able to get the exhaust securely back onto its hanger and back where it should be.

⚠️ This is a known common failure on the Jaguar XF.

If you own a Jaguar XF and notice your tailpipe sitting lower than usual or the exhaust appears to have dropped, don’t ignore it. Pop into your local vehicle repair centre and get it checked over.

Another repair completed and another Jaguar back where it should be. 🔧🚗

Another commercial vehicle in with us, this time for a gearbox removal so the customer can have the gearbox repaired under warranty.

What makes this job even more meaningful to us is how the customer came to us. We were recommended by a friend who runs their own repair shop but is currently unable to carry out the work due to an injury.

We genuinely cannot appreciate enough the trust they have placed in us — not only to look after their own customers and their vehicles, but to step in and take care of business while they’re off.

That’s a huge compliment coming from another repair shop, and we certainly don’t take that trust lightly.

We’ll continue to uphold the same standards they have built their reputation on and make sure every customer they send our way receives the same level of care and attention they would expect from their own workshop.

Another vehicle in for some last-minute repairs 🔧

This one needed an exhaust fitting, with the customer supplying their own parts.

⚠️ As customer-supplied parts were used, no warranty is offered on the parts or the repair.

Another job completed and ready to get back on the road! 🚗💨

Fiat Punto – Clutch & Gearbox Replacement

Fiat Punto brought into the garage for a clutch replacement.

While stripping the vehicle to carry out the clutch replacement, we noticed significant play in the gearbox input shaft. The customer was advised that the gearbox would need to be replaced.

The customer opted to have a second-hand replacement gearbox fitted. We are happy to fit customer-supplied or second-hand parts; however, all used parts are fitted strictly without warranty or guarantee. We cannot guarantee the condition, reliability or lifespan of any second-hand gearbox or other used component.

The new clutch supplied and fitted by us is covered by the applicable warranty. The warranty applies to the new clutch only and does not cover the second-hand gearbox.

Gearbox and clutch replacement completed and the vehicle returned to the road.

Ford Transit Tipper – Gearbox Replacement

Ford Transit tipper brought into the garage for an automatic gearbox replacement. This particular Transit has been fitted with a BMW engine and automatic gearbox.

The customer supplied a used replacement gearbox along with a full new gearbox service kit. We carried out the full service on the replacement gearbox before installation, then fitted the gearbox to the vehicle.

While the vehicle was with us, we also replaced a lower control arm.

We are happy to fit customer-supplied used parts; however, all used parts are fitted strictly without warranty or guarantee. We cannot guarantee the condition, reliability or lifespan of any second-hand component supplied by the customer or sourced from a salvage yard.

All work completed and the vehicle returned to the road.

Mercedes Vito – Brake Inspection & Emergency Repairs

Mercedes Vito brought into the garage for an inspection following brake work carried out at another garage.

During our inspection, we found that a bolt in the brake caliper carrier had been snapped. The vehicle had apparently been allowed to leave the previous garage with this issue still present. Due to the nature of the fault, we considered this a serious safety concern and advised that the vehicle should not be driven until the necessary repairs were completed.

The customer was carrying out last-minute repairs before travelling home to Lincoln, so replacement parts were sourced from a salvage yard due to the time constraints. The customer was advised that the parts were second-hand and that no warranty or guarantee could be provided on any used parts supplied.

We are happy to fit customer-supplied or second-hand parts at the customer’s request, but all such parts are fitted strictly without warranty or guarantee. Responsibility for the condition, reliability and lifespan of the used component remains with the customer/supplier.

Repairs completed and vehicle returned to the road.

Volkswagen Caddy – Alternator Replacement

Vehicle brought into the garage for an alternator replacement. Customer supplied a second-hand replacement alternator, which was fitted to the vehicle and the charging system checked following installation.

We are happy to fit customer-supplied second-hand parts. However, all second-hand parts are fitted strictly without warranty or guarantee. Any warranty or guarantee relating to the second-hand part remains the responsibility of the supplier/customer. We welcome the installation of second-hand parts at the customer’s request, but cannot accept responsibility for the condition, reliability or lifespan of any used component supplied by the customer.
